Pats will win the SB again; book it.
Actually, I'll be rooting for them.

If it's between them and the Eagles, then I'll bite the bullet and root for the Pats all day.

Hell yeah. Living and working among Eagles fans forces one to make otherwise unfathomable choices.

Yeah, but the Pats are basically the Eagles fans of organizations.

I know 0 Eagles fans. The Philly rivalry outside of the Pens means nothing to me. Screw the Pats

But yeah, living amongst a bunch of Browns fans, I understand how it would feel if they were to do something good sometime, so I know what you mean.

The Patriots aren't already trash-talking me about how glorious it'll be to beat the Steelers* to win their first Super Bowl.

* This assumes a lot, sure. But, even conceptually, screw that.

Good thing you'll never have to fear the possibility. :D

I'm unnerved by their certitude and pray to the football gods to smite them for their upstart arrogance.

If the steelers and pats are the only afc teams worth a hoot, then go ahead and shrink that list to just the pats. Because we still can't beat that team.
This is the correct assessment.

I don't know how other coaches don't catch on to the Pats. It's not like they are reinventing their game every week. It's the same crossing patterns or outs to the WRs or seams to Gronkowski. Mix in a few runs and dump offs to the RBs and that's their bread and butter. Brady can't throw more than 20 yds consistently, so teams should be stuffing the middle like crazy.

Belichek deserves more credit than Brady, IMO. He studies the other teams like no other, and knows what they are going to do better than the other team. He's good at dispatching that information to his players, to the point that THEY know what the other team is doing better than they do. It just pisses me off that coaches don't get that. When you play the Pats, you can't use your standard playbook. You have to throw some wrinkles in there, or they are going to eat you alive.

I would rather the Pats win the next five SBs than have the Eagles win one.

It's the only acceptable view if you know any Eagles fans.

The early 2000s Eagles were a fun - if not underachieving- team to watch. I'm indifferent to the current version.

The Pats have the worst total defense in the league right now. How is that possible?

The first five weeks that was true...I don't think they've given up more than 17 points too often recently...the first few weeks were almost historically bad, so it's influencing the total numbers...

After giving up 27, 20, 33, and 30 to start the season they have proceeded to give up 14, 17, 7, 13, 16, and 8. They're 13th in the league with 203 points allowed and are 6th with a points differential of +87.

They've also played the Bucs, Jets, Falcons, Chargers, Broncos and Raiders. I'm not ready to call their defense good yet but I guess it's improved from terrible
