Listening to WIP this morning...some caller named Chris just called in crying. He could barely talk because he was so beside himself bawling about the Wentz injury.

Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungey seemed to accept it as fact that they are still a SB contender with Foles.

I dunno...that defense looks suspect at best. They have leaned EXTREMELY heavily on Wentz to win games for them. That said, they will likely have the #1 seed in the NFC, so the fact they will be hosting both of their non-SB playoff games certainly helps a lot, and will help Foles out too.I think that's a team that's so overloaded they could get to the Superbowl with an even halfway decent play from Foles.

They go from best QB of the big 3 in the NFC to worst just like that. Then you got Aaron Rodgers coming back and he's a game out of this thing...that one man show would make things interesting too...

That sucks for them, reminds me of the Raiders and Carr from last year.

It's sad that human nature/schadenfreude affects me to this degree, but it's true. There is a huge overlap there. I really couldn't believe when I heard the guy bawling on the phone with the radio station this morning. He genuinely sounded suicidal.i have no issue with the eagles, so this stinks. but i have to keep telling myself that this hurts flyers fans dearly. and then i feel ok.
NFL
Same here. Just doesn't make sense to me. Is it a city-wide thing? Is it isolated to Pens fans who are carrying over their Flyers hate? (see shmengy's post)I've never gotten the Eagles hate in Pittsburgh; there isn't a rivalry.

I don’t have a hatred of all things philly, but I do take joy in their failings, this is from spending the better part of 15 years there. The bravado built in the McNabb years that came crashing down with the failure of the “gold standard” dream team era has come back with a vengeance this season.

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. Stupid though. Regarding the Eagles hate...living in Philly has dramatically enhanced my sense of pleasure when bad things happen to their teams. I will listen to Philly sports talk all week after Eagles losses because I just enjoy their misery so much. I'm not proud of it.I would also like to remind people that Wentz played three downs after tearing his ACL, including a TD pass on 4th and goal.
Of course, regarding Wentz staying on the field, not as stupid as Tom Savage being sent back onto the field this weekend after he was literally convulsing/twitching after taking a hit. How about that concussion protocol, eh?

any bravado eagles fans display comes crashing down 5 or 6 times per week. this year might be different, but generally this is a group of people who looks for excuses to give up (and also get back on the horse - very manic)I don’t have a hatred of all things philly, but I do take joy in their failings, this is from spending the better part of 15 years there. Cowherd went nuclear on the Bengals a bit ago. "Did you watch the Steelers and Ravens last night? What did you not see? Chippiness. Because when the Steelers and Ravens shake hands after the game, they've got Superb Owl rings on their hands. The Bengals don't. When the Steelers and Bengals play, it gets chippy, and that's 100% on the Bengals. Look at how the two teams fared after that slugfest last week: The Steelers come in against a division rival, and they put up nearly 40 points, and Ben throws for five football fields. The Bengals go up against a weak Chicago team and completely lay a stinker."
It was much lol

bengals are a loser franchise, no matter how hard @Nailed Penguin, number one Bengals fan on the internet, wishes it was otherwise

I did not see this, wtf.
Read a tweet from PFTCommentator that summed it up perfectly:
"The NFL concussion protocol would have cleared JFK to reenter the parade"

Things I heard on Philly talk radio today from callers:
1) This team is fine, the defense will step up and Foles is a solid QB
2) Interesting thought: Would Romo come out of the booth and play for a championship contender?
3) Even if Wentz is injured, could you have him dressed and only come out for 3rd downs and when they are in the red zone?
