They do seem to circle the wagons well for their own.

on r/NFL there are a few stories about different groups demanding the release of the full investigation (NFLPA, cheerleaders, lawyers representing former WFT employees). There's no chance the NFL is going to release them unless forced
I guess my question is...the WFT cheerleaders seem to have a pretty straightforward lawsuit to make. It's pretty widely believed that they were "trafficked" (transported internationally, had their passports taken away, had photos of them taken and released without their consent). Albeit I'm not a lawyer so some of this is over my head, but I'm not sure why the cheerleaders/lawyers representing them haven't sued the NFL/WFT and I feel like that's a pretty good vector into getting this **** actually released (I guess maybe they signed NDAs or something)

That's what makes the Gruden stuff smell funny IMO. It almost comes off as a 'see how transparent we're being' move while, you know, hiding some potentially horrific information. They do seem to circle the wagons well for their own.

Saw speculation from Raiders fans that the team was onboard with the shenanigans. Got them out of the most ridiculous coach contract in history. That's what makes the Gruden stuff smell funny IMO. Yeah, that's my thought too...
For a coach that moves the needle in a big way, like BB, I feel like there's no chance this happens to him...I imagine the Raiders and the Patriots are both grimy organizations in their own way...or maybe a collective way, who knows...but, while wild speculation is set to [ON], I might as well indulge...

If this was meant as a 'targeted leak' to establish some sort of transparency, then it was amateurish and ill-considered. Most of the media takes I've seen include some variation of "Gruden was operating in a perceived safe space", so if there are not any similar outings from the 650,000 other emails that are part of the investigation then I'll cry foul.

Very heartfelt, but I'm sure the Chargers PR staff prepped him before that media availability. Cynical? Yes. But that's the age we live in.

That is pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

So many of these Gruden emails were also included in a federal court filing over the summer. Snyder is suing an Indian media company for defamation, and DS was trying to compel evidentiary discovery of communications Bruce Allen had privately with the media company, and BA was resisting. (He's basically claiming BA was the anon source for the alleged defamatory stories) The emails that Snyder entered as exhibits (which I guess are legally WFT property) match the WSJ and NYT reports, but are heavily redacted........ except for one (apparently mistaken) instance where 'ESPN Personality' is just john.gruden@yahoo.com (or whatever).
I think all of this is hilarious and couldn't be happening to a more deserving bunch. But it also opens up the possibility that the League was not the source of the leak.

I’m still amazed that the Chargers were able to hire someone that looks just like Philip Rivers. The first time I saw Staley on the sidelines I thought it was Rivers

As a person of gender, I disagree. I think those are his own thoughts.Very heartfelt, but I'm sure the Chargers PR staff prepped him before that media availability. Cynical? Yes. But that's the age we live in.
