Colts defense...without most of their secondary and their star linebacker won the day...Mack was terrific, the o-line was terrific...Mahomes wasn't all that great either after the first drive...

So is Thomas going to get a call from the league office today, or are we now cool with attempts to decapitate quarterbacks using the crown of our helmet?

Asking for a friend who can't remember his name at the moment

At least he didn't go for the thighs.
James Harrison says he doesn't think Thomas hit was malicious. "He was using his hands and forearms to hit him and try to disrupt the throw and his helmet caught his chin."
Should intent matter? Players need to be in control of their bodies. Playing out of control can be just as dangerous as playing malicious.

The NFL does not need moar things to be penalties. There is already an absurd number of silly things that draw flags, please do not add to the list.

Eff the defense (although they played great getting pressure with four and without Watkins and Hill made it easy playing man on the backside). The impressive thing to me was how they ran the ball. Even considering it was the second string front four (and Clark), the second level was getting run over, too. The Chiefs knew exactly what they were going to do and still couldn't slow them down.
As for Mahomes, after he reinjured his ankle he wasn't the same. He couldn't seem to make the touch passes over the top; the only thing he could hit were the balls he threw on a rope.

Yeah, dude, we have some real maulers up front now...even when the Colts were in their heyday...guys like Tarik Glenn and Jeff Saturday, they weren't really maulers...they could move and pass protect, they played the game on their heels...Nelson, Costanzo, even Kelly can play the game really well on their toes...Mack has improved a lot, Hines is a good receiving back...it's a good combo...something we really haven't even had a sniff of since Edgerrin James left us...

I'm not gonna check this...but I would imagine Jacoby Brissett has gotten more 100 yard rushing games out of RBs in his Colts career than Andrew Luck...if not, he'll surpass it very soon...

Didn't they go like 3 or 4 years into Luck's career before they had a 100 yard rusher?

Vick Ballard had one late in his rookie season as I recall...and then he went 5 or 6 years before getting another one...not great. It's actually a shame Luck never had one (career high 60) because that would be an even more fun stat...

Unrelated, but QB rushing related...I think Thom Brennaman (he's a real piece of work...if you're gonna provide color commentary as the pxp guy, don't be such a wienerhole about it) said yesterday during the Cards/Bengals game that "since 2011, Andy Dalton is second among QBs in rushing yards..." and I looked over at my friend and was like "that can't be right...Dalton is one of the least athletic players in the league..." and sure enough, he's like 15th in that time...I get that live TV is tough, but when you got that card handed to you, that didn't sound a little off to you at all...? You'll just read anything they put in the teleprompter...n. e. thing?

I have a feeling there's a big qualifier to that stat that he ignored which provides some vital context. Like "Since 2011, Andy Dalton is second among NFL QBs in rushing yards...... for soulless gingers called Andy."

Jay Gruden fired in Washington
Full-time coaches hired by Dan Snyder and their records:
Marty Schottenheimer 8-8
Steve Spurrier 12-20
Joe Gibbs 30-34
Jim Zorn: 12-20
Mike Shanahan: 24-40
Jay Gruden: 35-49-1

Fire Dan Snyder.
Maybe they should’ve hired one of the young assistant coaches they let go. Hard to believe they were once a premier franchise.

It’s not.

Dan Snyder has single handedly (OK with the help of Jack Kent Cooke who moved the stadium to like, Garrett County someplace) turned the best home field advantage and longest STH wait list into Everyone else’s home field. I swear anytime I am in town I see more cars with Cowboys crap than Redskins. That’s one person’s fault.

You wonder at what point he sits in the owner’s box and says- you know, I’m not even really sure how we got here but.....this place is full of Cowboys/Eagles/Giants/Bears/Steelers/Patriots/Packers/whatever fans, gosh I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing. Time to let somebody else have a shot. Sell the effing team!

Next time I go down there I’m taking a dookie on his lawn.

Not going to happen. He is oblivious, somehow. And it’s not just the terrible on field teams, the questionable player decisions, the bad coaching decisions, and the stadium issue. They also seem like they’d be a shitty organization to work for, the way they throw people under the bus.

Also, TRADE TRENT WILLIAMS ALREADY!
