Kind of with AB there, imo.

Lack of awareness here is pretty astounding. Hint: You are reporting on deleted tweets; you are the problem.Look, we get it. We’re not thrilled about having to cover Antonio Brown’s antics either.

It's silly... there are plenty of people that can go and kick a 55 yard FG. Just because you can do that doesn't mean you are going to get looks from the NFL.
That said, of course people are going to eat it up, and anyone surprised by that is dumber than the original story.

ESPN is practically salivating over this story. It's so absurdly overblown (on all sides), but the segment that are clamoring for this to happen as some sort of equality fight are the worst. It's silly... there are plenty of people that can go and kick a 55 yard FG. Except a scout on an unnamed team also offered Beckham a tryout in 2007 and he turned it down.

Retired footballer David Beckham was offered a trial as a kicker for an American Football side.
An NFL franchise scout contacted the star to see if he would be interested in trying out as a star kicker.
The offer came in as Becks contemplated his future at the L.A. Galaxy and before he enjoyed his swansong with Paris Saint Germain.
Becks’ accurate long range kicks with a round ball gave the American the idea of trying him out with the rugby-shaped ball.
Their idea is not as ridiculous as it sounds because Beckham’s skill at bending in long range free kicks can be perfectly adapted to scoring field goals in the NFL.
The former Manchester United midfielder had made it clear he hoped to return to the US to help the Major League Soccer growth, but the NFL coach felt he could be an asset to a team too.
It is understood the offer was beneficial for marketing reasons, as the ex England skipper has such huge commercial prowess worldwide.
Becks has already proved he can cut it in the NFL during a training session for a 2007 Adidas commercial.
He showed himself to be a natural as he worked out with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush.
Beckham also showed off his conversion skills with a rugby ball during another sports firm commercial with Johnny Wilkinson.
A source in Hollywood said: “A couple of scouts felt that David has the potential to become a kicker in the NFL team, and one actually put a call into him for a trial.
“It is no secret that David is one of the best in the business when it comes to accuracy and length in his passing.
“And he has stood on the greatest stages to perform magnificent feats with his feet.
“Major league kickers can send the ball 40 yards straight - David has shown for the last 15 years he can do that week in week out.
“It was obvious too that if Becks took up the offer then any NFL franchise would be interested as his international appeal would generate billions in PR and commercial opportunities.”
The source added: “The offer came in and he politely said that it wasn’t right for him. Perhaps in the next few months he could change his mind.”
Beckham, 38, walked away from his illustrious soccer career after winning championships in four different countries.

I KNOW! It would be totally not awesome to be able to tell my daughters that while men in general are stronger at many things there's still a spot (that doesn't involve skirts and immature boys oggling them) for them in one of their favorite sports.ESPN is practically salivating over this story. It's like actively rooting to keep Annika Sorenstam out of a PGA tour event.

It makes perfect sense for an NFL team, too, since they'd only have to pay her 80% of a typical kicker's salary.

I think a woman could absolutely kick in the NFL, I just don't think a 37 year old is going to be the one to accomplish the feat.
