Nice of the Pats to wait for the exact moment Pittsburgh is irrelevant to implode themselves.
And to be the last piece of my +350 ML parlay. Not a fun score to wake up to this morning.

Very little defense in this game. Hope you all took the over.

And as I post that, the Rams come up with a big sack to bring up 4th down.

Cooper Kupp from E. Washington who I first became aware of when he lit up YSU in a playoff loss a couple years back seems to be the real deal.

I appreciate Aaron Donald's method of avoiding a roughing the passer penalty.

Ha, I saw that and had a chuckle.

Also, if you take a leg bone to the skull and spend the next 40 seconds shaking your head and grabbing at your helmet, don't throw a dodint fit when you're called to the sideline for a concussion check.

Can't wait til that's a penalty next week because a QB could tear an ACL while spinning.

to be fair that's more violent than 90% of the roughing calls so far this year

Indeed, which is why the "new emphasis" is so god damn stupid.

I'm fully in favor of rules to tighten up certain roughing calls. There have been an awful lot of quarterbacks have a season derailed because some clownshoes DT piled on them and drove their shoulder into the turf and broke their collarbone in the process. Ben, Romo, Rogers, to name a few from memory. So at least in theory, I'm on board with this effort.

However, when you see guys getting flagged who are clearly letting up, releasing the QB and bracing the fall with their hands or forearms as they land and expressly not heaving their body weight on the QB.... it's maddening.

imo it's borderline physically impossible to sack a QB if you aren't rushing from the outside to wrap him and spin off of him, while being certain you'll actually get the sack against a good chunk of QBs. Good luck trying to gently bring Ben, Newton, Winston, Wentz, Wilson down. Oh and you're coming at full steam and these guys might actually move to try to not get sacked? I get where they're coming from, but come on. Just ban QB hits and be open about it

I have the Bengals game on in the background while doing homework. It's stupid. Neither team fielded a defense, it looks like practice.

Going to flip to NASCAR in a minute.

The Eagles find a way to sht out a victory every week. It's so frustrating.

Indeed.

Between last night's PSU loss and this game, I'm about tapped out on football for one weekend, and Lord knows what the Steelers have in store for my nerves tonight.

No idea who the Falcons' CB thought he was covering on the final score.
