I find it extremely infuriating that:

A.) James Harrison has been more impactful as a part-time player with the Patriots than Dud Dupree was for 90% of the season with the Steelers.
2.) The "James doesn't play special teams" excuse can now be thrown out the window since he's been playing special teams for the Patriots.
D.) That he was released in the first place.

Also a classic Philly move to mock the Skol cheer as the game was getting out of hand. You would think that if you were headed to a team’s stadium to win a championship, you wouldn’t mock them. They are so classless that they have to go after the other fanbase instead of just enjoying the win. Sign me up for wanting the Philly drought to continue.

The only hope I have left is that the Pats win in controversial fashion, and Eagles fans lose their minds and finally blow their collective tops with the conspiracy against them stuff. That is my last hope for schadenfreude.

If the Eagles win, that will have a cascading effect on other sports. One of the reasons why it is fun to watch the Flyers fail every year is because it contributes to the collective drought of the city. A Super Bowl trophy will go a long way to making Philly fans care much less about how the Flyers or Phillies do for the next 5-10 years.

If the Pats win, Belichick will have eight SB rings.

i don't hate that the pats won. i also don't think there's any conspiracy going on. but i do hate the officiating.- particularly blowing that fumble dead and some late holds that you just have to call. although...this is where there's a blurred line between incompetency and conspiracy. i think the refs were along for the ride with the comeback to some extent. but i don't think it was pre-meditated.

Is Gronk already ineligible for the SB because of his concussion?

I meant in terms of their concussion protocol. Talk around the cubes today is that he won't even be eligible to play because of their timeline, though I haven't bothered to Google it.

I assume his return will depend on how bad his head is messed up. The only reason that the league protocol would hold him up, is if he were still dealing with concussion symptoms, right?

Sendejo was knocked out cold against New Orleans and still started against Philadelphia...

Gronk would need to be in a coma not to be dressed for that game...you think New England is just gonna let their best offensive weapon sit out a Super Bowl...

I'm sure Gronk's baseline is already low, so he should be good.

Jimmy Garoppolo is getting a $79,000 bonus from the Patriots because they made the Superb Owl.

If the Pats, lose the game, he'll get a $56,000 bonus. If they win, he'll get a $112,000 bonus.... and a ring.

lol

Hmm...this day could not have unfolded any worse really...

So in my head I have to weigh whether I want a Philadelphia sports team to win a championship or the disgusting New England Patriots to win another. The early returns are that the 400th title for the Pats doesn't move the needle more than getting Philly off the ground from 0 to 1...

So I guess I want the Pats to win...yargh...what a horrific scenario...
i've made my decision. i don't really care about depriving the city of a championship - as long as it doesn't involve the flyers. and since i have to live here, i'm in favor of people here being less miserable and assholeish. and also...this doesn't mean much as far as pissing contests go, but it would please me if brady lost a SB to Nick Foles. And twice to Eli Manning.

go. birds.

Implying that would happen if they now had a Super Bowl ring to puff their chests about

Yeah, I don't know...there is that "at least the inhabitants of the city I live will be happier" angle, I respect that...many of my close friends are Eagles fans...and the Phillies winning in 2008 or whatever kind of deadens that Lord Neverwin character that they have been playing...but still, the Eagles never winning a Super Bowl has a nice ring to it...

Part of the issue is that Indianapolis has no rivalry with Philadelphia. For all I know, they have never played each other. Whereas the Patriots are rivals with Indianapolis and have been mired or semi-mired in scandal since BB took over...tough to figure out...

So I'll propose this solution: Brady and Gronk can't play or get hurt during and Hoyer (or whoever is the backup...Bledsoe?) wins it. I'll take that as my ideal result. I've yet to determine what the second best result would be...I guess maybe Nick Foles winning might rank, as that helps to deaden the idea that individual players on a 53-man rosters win things themselves. I'm conflicted and would like to flee the country for the next couple of weeks.

This is extremely yinzer of me but the notion of anyone having six Super Bowls like the Steelers is unpleasant, so even in a vacuum where the Pats were not the personification of evil I wouldnt want to root for them. Add in the baggage and its a big old helll no

If the Pats winning means Brady and BB retire, I'm all in.
