As a pure pocket passer and general smarts between the ears.. Peterman is better than CK easily.

That's how most of the NFL is...which what most of the NFL bases their schemes on...which is why I get confused why people are confused as to why CK doesn't have a job...he's bad AND expensive AND he comes with an easily bought-and-sold distraction...
NFL
it's a "Nathan Peterman is starting and they will be good" thingwait...is this a "in a passing league you can't win with trent dilfer anymore" or a "all QBs stink now so what does it matter"times have changed nowi've been told by podcast-level analysts that buffalo has been a promising team over the past couple years. i don't know what it will take for people to figure out that when you have no quarterback, you cannot win.

I don't think anyone should entertain any argument being made that Nate Peterman is a better starting QB than Kaepernick right now.

I just think it comes down to that the marginal upgrade you would get in signing a guy like Kaep isn't worth all the extra baggage he brings to your team. Kaep is not good. At all. Once the league figured him out he did nothing to adapt and make himself better. He can't read defenses, he has one throw speed(bullet) and is just ... average at the very best, below average is probably a better description.I don't think anyone should entertain any argument being made that Nate Peterman is a better starting QB than Kaepernick right now.

http://www.nfl.com/player/colinkaeperni ... areerstatsAs a novelty, he was pretty incredible for like 14 games.
He obviously had some serious limitations as a passer with his inability to complete over 60% of his throws. But that's a completion percentage that Wentz and Broeth are operating at this year.
I guess I'm of the opinion that there's a lot of revisionist history being told about this guy. He was definitely a big part of the 49'ers becoming a dumpster fire, but he wasn't the only reason.

I'm a 49ers fan. I watched every game he played. He never developed past a one read passer. The team got bad his last year or two but he was really really bad when he actually had to be a QB and read defenses and not run the read option.
I defended him early on, but he got really bad his last year or two. Really really really bad.

He's definitely a guy that needed to be coached up, I suppose that I think there are other ways to weigh his performances (early career success and recent struggles) that put him in a more favorable light. Especially with whatever the hell happened there with Harbaugh leaving in 2014 and then them having new coaches in 2015 and 2016.

I'm not sure why it did, but the Bills QB news triggered my brain into remembering they drafted EJ Manual 16. Did he ever play in a game for them?

I also want to sort of asterisk my last posts. I only play amateur scout in relation to Roethlisberger, I'm trying to dispute the notion of Kaepernick being objectively bad and not worthy of a QB job. I think it's clearly arguable that he's not good enough to warrant the baggage that comes with him. So to phrase his current status as being independent of his protests is false IMO.
NFL
I don't think anyone has made the claim that his lack of employment is independent of his protests. The argument is that he's not talented enough the make the baggage worth the effort. If Kaep had a top 10 or 12 arm, he'd have been signed the day he opted out of his 9ers deal.
NFL
I wish someone would just hire him so we can all see him fall on his face (again) and then quietly, QUIETLY, flush him out of the league.

How many games has he missed thus far? Just one or two? He's a dope for just not getting it over with early on, because there's a good chance that his absence late in the season will cost them a playoff berth.Zeke Elliott has dropped his appeal and will serve the balance of his suspension.
