I’m a sucker for playoff football, and the 12 months for $29.99 promo got me to sign up.

The Maria Taylor fill-in guy looks like a young Baba Booey.
I will not be purchasing Peacock. I just hope my usual site's feed(s) hold up with the influx of people watching.

I have the ad version of peacock. Good for majors and randomly a movie I want to see will pop up there early. I take it over Hulu and Apple TV

I read that the remake of John Woo’s “The Killer” will release on peacock so there is my silver lining.

Playoffs are usually national broadcast free-to-air. It is an immensely stupid move to put this game exclusively on Peacock.
NBC paid a nine-figure sum for exclusive streaming rights as a one-off for this game. The last time the League allowed a playoff game to be exclusive to non-OTA it was the lowest rated playoff broadcast in close to ten years.

I don’t think the nfl cares. They have enough money to do whatever they want.

Peacock's not bad. Got the ad version for the Penn State game earlier this year and kept it. Went through Brooklyn 99, Poker Face, and a smattering of movies...most recent one being the new Exorcist movie. I have Resident Alien and Parks n Rec still to go. Definitely feel like we've gotten our money's worth. Will be good for the Olympics most likely.
Having said that, putting an NFL playoff game on there is beyond stupid. I was ticked about the Big Ten games, but playoffs shouldn't be behind a paywall...especially when I already pay a cable provider for NBC.

It was cardinals-panthers, along with it not being ota, so not a surprise.Playoffs are usually national broadcast free-to-air. It is an immensely stupid move to put this game exclusively on Peacock.

didn’t watch the game but kind of crazy that the Texans got 45 points when Stroud only threw 21 passes for less than 300 yards
i can’t really see the Texans winning the Super Bowl this season but with Stroud being this good they are definitely contenders next season

93 of top 100 highest-rated TV broadcasts in 2023 were NFL games.I don’t think the nfl cares. They have enough money to do whatever they want.
This is only the second time in six decades an NFL playoff game is not on free TV. The last time they took a playoff game off OTA was a one-off because advertisers threw a fit and balked at paying the same rate for :30s spots the following year if they did it again. It was such a bad move that it essentially birthed ESPN-ABC simulcasting.

The first stat is why this being on peacock should be expected. And yes, only the second time because how long has it been an option not to do its, realistically? Streaming is common now, so of course this was going to happen.
