Vrable would have been the fun story.

When you promote from within, does that allow you to bypass the different hiring rules? Or does that only apply because Mayo is a minority to begin with?
Guess the article gave me the answer.

The Patriots were able to forgo the standard NFL hiring process and immediately hire Mayo because they established a succession plan in the contract extension he signed last offseason, similar to what the Baltimore Ravens did with their general manager position when Eric DeCosta succeeded Ozzie Newsome in 2019.

That's pretty shocking to me. Dude spent 5 seasons as ILB coach under BB after 8 seasons as an ILB under BB. Dude has never called a play or coached or played outside of a single position. Apparently there was a contractual succession plan in his contract that made things easier, which is of course the number one goal of hiring an NFL coach. Hiring Belichick assistants is a proven path to failure and this one has never existed outside of Belichick. This will likely fail miserably so I applaud the decision.

There's not a single aspect of Belichick's personality that would lead me to believe he was helping anyone learn the ropes behind the scenes. If that was the case his plethora of promoted assistants wouldn't be complete and utter failures outside his bubble. This is some last ditch effort to keep the Patriots Way/Belichick Era alive while dumping the dude who made it happen and whose success hinged on having the best QB in the league continually sign for under his market value.

I don't know why, but I didn't expect a dude with the last name "Mayo" to be a black guy. Mike McDaniels is a "Mayo" kind of guy.

What's the feeling here...

Buf -9.5

Phi/TB...over...?
Normally I auto bet any +300 or better NFL game. And maybe I'll do that for the Steelers, but combine it with Bills -17 or something because I still think the Steelers are basically the Jets and they're missing their best player...

Grabbed club level tickets to KC-MIA ($200), so I can hide in the heated concourse when I can’t feel my fingers.
There was a lot of talk about Arrowhead being quieter because of the weather and locals criticized the idea. Well, there’s still at least a thousand tickets unsold directly from the team not to mention lower bowl resale tickets going for 40% under face.

It's gonna be real cold for that Dolphins-Chiefs night game. -4, feels like -27, 30 mph winds. Gross. That has to favor the Chiefs though, right? How do the Dolphins even simulate that?

They ask for the game to be moved to Indianapolis.

Steelers +10 is too juicy to pass up. 10 points for an NFL game is usually good value anyway, never mind for a playoff gameWhat's the feeling here...

I think Steelers with the points and the under is a popular bet. But i like the over. Both teams should have success running the ball and will be going for touchdowns instead of field goals

Where can I bet that Tomlin goes for a FG when down by 18?

I like Houston, but have no confidence on that outcome.

No confidence in how that game goes. My feeling is that Philly is checked out.

I almost never bet on o/u. Those feel even more random than against the spread bets
