Yeah well he's elite so...

Right. There's no way Danny Dime's is worth 90% of Mahomes or Allen. Forget the horrible contracts given to Russ, Kyler, and Deshaun from people who were desperate. There's no way he's level with Dak and I'm very low on Dak.
I'm not sure exactly what Lamar is asking for, but $32 is a "steal" considering the guys below him are Matt Ryan and Ryan Tannehill and Geno Smith. There's not another starter below him on AAV that isn't on their rookie deal. And directly above him are Goff who signed his contract in 2019 with a Super Bowl trip and Kirk Cousins whose deal has been lampooned but barely puts him in the top third now years later.
Comparably, there's no reason Lamar shouldn't get $40-$45 as a former MVP. But the Ravens hold all the cards, because giving up two firsts would get most GM's canned. You have to have a team that is on the cusp and just missing QB play, while also having an offense that you could plug in a running QB.
The team that comes to mind frankly is Tennessee. Defensively they've been quite good, and they run the ball extremely well with Henry or whoever backs him up even. They've basically given up on throwing the ball when they let AJ Brown go. But he'd probably eat up nearly all their available Cap Space (only save 18 mil cutting Tannehill and they've got 23 left right now).

San Fran maybe.

Who is the backup in Miami? When Tua dies in week 4 they'll be looking.

I can't remember where it was they were talking about this, but right after the Superb Owl some TV schmoe mentioned that Mahomes actually has a bizarrely team-friendly deal. His guarantee value recalculates every year, and by the time the 2023 season starts he will end up only being like the 6th highest-paid QB on the year (once all the other QBs are extended and the other likely FA signings shake out). Or will only have the 6th highest cap hit at the position. Something oddball like that.

He would be a great possession receiver.

Wow. What a great haul for Chicago. The fact that DJ Moore is included pushes this over the top of absurdity.

All to get a QB worse than the QB they passed on last year.

There’s a realistic chance the Hornets get Wembanyama too
