They haven't announced anything official yet, but I keep reading $499 at launch.

Xbox has the same rumored price. Any higher and I’d be out.

Pump the brakes on that, maybe; the listing was for the 2 TB model, not the 1 TB base.

I'm more concerned that they're indicating games will be priced 50% higher than today.

I will come late to this, but that's fairly standard for me.

Games always cost more overseas. A small uptick wouldn’t surprise me, but from what I remember reading there’s been plenty of marketing research indicating that 59.99 is the max that your average jamoke or stressed parent trying to keep a kid happy are willing to spend on a game. They make up for it by peddling all the special editions to the more hardcore.

Yeah, I expect to see a lot of standard, deluxe, and premium editions. Seeing it a lot already.

It blows my mind that growing up, games with 0.1% of the content of many modern AAA games also sold for $59.99. Games that you could beat in 2-3 hours.

Apparently GTA V is going to have a new enhanced version for next-gen. Where the **** is GTA VI? That's enough with the GTA V.

I may have unzipped during the Horizon Forbidden West reveal.

No date mentioned there, but the console becomes an instabuy for me once that is available.

They need to show some love to Red Dead 2 Online. The online version is as buggy as...something that is buggy...@shyster 's house...?

No need to make a new game when they've got kids throwing money in that one to catch up to the people who have been playing it awhile, probably requires minimal effort compared to making a new one. It's really unfortunate what online has done to some franchises.

I wouldn't know if RDR 2 Online is buggy. The only time I've ever gone into the online part of either game is by accident. I pretty much gave up on online/multiplayer gaming years ago. Too many jagoffs and too much grief for me.

I've never played GTA or RDR online. It seems so odd to me because those games are inherently single player experiences. Is online mode like a co-op or just free for all?

GTA online can be either or. You can join a public lobby and get killed every 5 minutes by randoms or you could do a private lobby and get killed every 5 minutes by your friends (or do co-op stuff)

Well that doesn't sound very fun but to each their own.

There definitely is a co-op option but yeah, public lobbies are basically just "how long can you go without someone killing you".

I tried it once. I tried to use the spectator mode or whatever that should have prevented people from killing me (I pulled off to the side of the road). Literally 30 seconds later someone found me and blew me up. Quit right after lol.

Spiderman Miles Morales looks cool.
Yeah it does. Sony always seems to have the better exclusives. No way I can convince the fiancé to let me buy two $500+ consoles. But I'm very much open to suggestions on how I can make that happen.

I don't know how it works in your household, but I'm certainly not responsible enough to be in charge of our finances. She would know immediately.

With the exception of the ColecoVision I had when I was like 11 years old, I've only had Sony consoles. My best friend is an 'early adopter' and buys, well, pretty much everything.
