Being able to set the trigger depth I think will come in handy. Gonna give it a test run shortly.

Yeah it’s great. I set mine on medium. The shortest is too much for me and I kept hitting it accidentally.Being able to set the trigger depth I think will come in handy. Gonna give it a test run shortly.
It takes a bit to get used to the paddles. I use all four and it probably took a good two weeks of solid play until it was second nature.

What do you have you left paddles configured to do? And do you need to do this in the Xbox accessories app?

My daughter has been begging me to let her try Halo, so she’s in training mode now on Recruit. And doing much better than I expected…

For COD and Halo I have each paddle mapped to a face button. X & A on the left. What do you have you left paddles configured to do? And do you need to do this in the Xbox accessories app?

Interesting. That sounds reasonable, so maybe I’ll give that a shot.

Oh I missed your second question, yes you configure it in the accessories app. When I first got the elite, I eased into the paddles. I may have only used one or two to start. For Halo I might start with A and Y (I think that’s jump and weapon switch)

I go a bit crazy with my paddles, I use all four. Upper left = B, lower left = A, Upper right = X, and lower right = Y. This set up works well I think because body movement buttons A and B on are the left side, and weapon reload and swap are on the right. Adjusted my left stick to curve of smooth, adjustment in the middle, and calculation of radial. Oh and definitely would suggest turning the brightness of the button as low as possible.

Map their controllers wrong.

That’s what I originally tried, using the left paddles for movement, but I keep trying to jump using the right paddles, so I swapped it. I definitely have to play around with them, but right now I have the left side set to X (reload/interact) and right stick tap (use equipment), and the right side set to right bumper (melee) and A (jump).I go a bit crazy with my paddles, I use all four. Upper left = B, lower left = A, Upper right = X, and lower right = Y. I was going to ask about the paddle profiles, too. Any reason you chose smooth/radial? I still find myself overreacting with the look stick.
And yeah, brightness is way down, like it is on my other controllers. That was probably the best XSX update, haha.

It is the left stick so I'm honestly not sure how much it helps with my movement being smooth/radial, and I use the tall stick on left. I kept the right stick default/radial and use the convex stick. I really like the convex on the aim because I am can smoothly roll my thumb around on it. Most people use the long stick on the right because it gives them move leverage, but I couldn't get comfortable to the height. Ultimately it comes down to preference and comfortability, but once you find what works best, it really helps.

I’m going to have to just load training mode and play with this stuff all on the fly.

Getting used to using so many buttons is going to take some time. I'm finding myself forgetting what's mapped to what, and getting killed while I search or go back to the buttons on the front. I will say, though, that the trigger sensitivity settings in the Xbox Accessories app for the Elite 2 seems to be worth the price of the controller alone. Changing the look trigger to Smooth seems to actually make fine tuning a shot smoother.

Alright so...
I'm about to finish up Mass Effect Andromeda...on the last mission and have most of the side missions that I want to do done. I've enjoyed it quite a bit.
My question...I never played 3. I played 1 and 2, but the negative reactions to 3s ending when it came out kept me away initially, and I never got around to going back. I know what happens, but is it worth going back and playing thru 3 now for $30? Honestly, I thought that ship had sailed, but now thinking it might be worth it with the legendary edition.

I’d honestly be surprised if we already saw new Xbox consoles in a year. Feels way too soon.

There is always a mid generation refresh...so 2023 is what 3 years in? I could see it I guess.

Nothing about that seems legit. That’s some fan-fic stuff.

Far cry 6 is fun thus far. Just got off the island and got the rest of the map opened to me. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

So I'm trying to purchase Microsoft's 3-year extended warranty on my Elite 2, and two odd things. One, they are having trouble adding it to my controller's serial number. And two, the 1-year warranty is showing as ending 8/22, which means half the warranty is already expired. It was definitely a brand new controller.

Anyone still looking for a PS5, it sounds like a fairly big restock is happening at Target this week (some stores will have over 150).
