Ordered Ghost of Tsushima and it delivered today. Looking forward to giving it a shot.
I'm not super far into it, but it seems pretty damn cool so far. It is definitely giving my ps4 a workout though... the fan sounds like a jet preparing for takeoff most of the time.
Spent a couple of hours with it last night...and I think I'm going to really, really enjoy it. Visually, it's definitely stylized...but beautifully so. The atmosphere is extremely engaging (the music fits the setting perfectly). Animations are spot on. Voice acting and dialogue are great so far. The use of wind as a directional aid is nifty. Just very cool aesthetically all around.

I was a bit worried that combat could be too difficult or have a huge learning curve (i.e. dark souls series), but it's awesome! Very similar feel to Witcher in that you have to parry and dodge instead of just hack n slash. Kills, especially in the Standoff mode  , are very satisfying. Little things like you can't block spear attacks so you have to dodge add a little strategy into every skirmish. The game does a great job at differentiating your character's Samurai fighting style and animations from your Mongol enemies. Just so cool to watch and control.

I haven't spent $60 on a game in a looonnnggg time, but so far there are absolutely no regrets. Can't wait to see what's in store for me.

Love the standoffs. Only bad thing is when it offers the standoff and there are actually like 80 guys instead of the 3 you can see atm.

I remember my mind being blown when I first played FS 95. This might be the only reason for an upgrade to the Series X.

Me and my one daughter have been watching the old Super Mario Bros Super Show on Netflix. My god I haven't watched that since I was 10 years old. So good yet so bad.

I remember me and my brother getting so pumped every week for Zelda on Friday.

Unfortunately, no. I don't know why those aren't on Netflix.

So PS+ is offering a game called Fall Guys this month. At first I thought it was a garbage offering, but I watched some streams and it looked pretty fun. It's almost like a Mario Party battle royale. You start with 60 players, and the top 40 who make it to the end of the obstacle course stage moves on to the next round, then the next round, then the next, until there is only 1 winner. I don't know how many different stages there are, but seems like there's a good variety.

It reminds me of when Rocket League came out, and I thought it was going to be a cheap shovelware game at first glance.

If you have kids, it's a good game for them to play.

Just about done with Act 1 of Ghost of Tsushima. Enjoying this a lot.

Still some areas I haven't investigated, but I think I've covered most of the content in this section.

Yeah... enjoying is the perfect way to put it.

I've been going thru the main story quests almost exclusively because of the sweet rewards, but I don't want to 'close out' act 1 too early. Gonna have to jump into some of those offshoot secondary quests that generate from completing the main quests.

I love the way the story is unfolding to this point. A little trope-y to this point, but that actually adds to the charm imo.

One of my favorites. I'm surprised that game didn't become a greater series.

That about sums up 2020.

Microsoft Flight Simulator review in progress: A fantastic landmark with some issues you should know about

https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-fligh ... or-review/

The issues seem to be mostly that the game doesn't explain itself very well:
The flight school offers a handful of lessons that do get you to grips with the very basics of controlling a Cessna above the scenic red rock landscape of Sedona, AZ, and thankfully the Superman 64 hoops from FSX are now gone. But there’s so much it doesn’t tell you.

It's an empty classroom. All the world’s airports to take off from, but no one to tell you what all the ATC chatter means. Nobody telling you about VOR flight plans or ILS approaches, or to point out that you don’t need to sit on the yoke making tiny adjustments for 14 hours on a Dreamliner flight across continents.
On the other hand, I do happen to know what VOR flight plans and ILS approaches are (and even how to read the basics of an approach plate), so all that sounds great to me. Plus, VOR navigation is so 20th century. RNAV is much more likely these days.

Plus the game appears to be a resource hog, but I think we could all look at the screenshots and guess that the game is going to make our video cards scream for mercy.

My PC is around the recommended requirements for the game, with my video card slightly better, but I want to play on my 75” 4K TV. I will not settle here.

I thought it was more fun than the initial gameplay reveal made it look, but it definitely a wait-a-see game. I can see the game getting stale really fast once the main story is complete.
