Can be either. Huge open word game so would suggest playing with others at some point. There is a ton of crafting, building, and battles against enemies can get pretty intense. You can make your own server and set it up so only friends can join using a password. The owner of the server has to be on, otherwise it is inaccessible. I never played minecraft but the buddy I've been playing with says it's the same style of game.Is this a single-player game or one of those multiplayer deals?I saw people talking about this and thought they were talking about the latest Assassin's Creed game. I was wondering why it was getting a boost all of a suddenValheim has been pretty fun so far
I've gotten to the point where multiplayer, co-op style games just don't interest me, because other people are jagoffs.

Weren't there a couple of people that used to play the Close Combat games back in the day? They are on sale at Steam - like up to 75% off for the older titles.
I played the hell out of those games, and the old Win 95 discs no longer work, but these versions are updated for Win 7/8/10. They are usually at $40, which is way too much to pay for 20 year old games, but sub $10 for a few is perfect.

Picked up Valheim this weekend. Figured out that you build your own world to grind out the things you can bring to a group server. It’s pretty fun raiding a troll cave.

Need for Speed delayed, but it's all hands for the next Battlefield:
I know most of the core dev team left BFV at launch to start "another project at DICE" in late 2018, which we now know meant the next Battlefield game. BFV had 18 months of prelaunch development; this next title will have almost double that - by three studios within DICE.
That's good news.
My only problem is that I am getting too old to play these games.
https://www.ea.com/en-gb/news/a-bold-mo ... attlefieldOur upcoming Battlefield™ game is coming together to be an exceptional game, not just for this year but also for the future of this powerful brand. The project is tracking towards the franchise’s earliest Alpha, the gameplay is at an unprecedented scale, and we are taking full advantage of the technology in the next-gen consoles. The team has done an incredible job despite the challenges of working from home. We want to build on our position of strength, focus on the opportunity in front of us, and set our game makers up for success to deliver the best experience possible to our players this fall. So, we are making a bold move - Criterion is joining DICE and DICE L.A. to focus on Battlefield. Criterion and DICE have a strong history of working together, and we’re confident this partnership will make a great game even better.

So Fox went from Gearbox who outsourced nearly everything in Colonial Marines to unsuitable sub-devs; to Creative Assembly who absolutely knocked it out of the park with Alien: Isolation; to this Fireteam thing by a studio called Cold Iron, who has never published a full game.
Fox is just all about the stewardship of this IP.

Started watching "Playing with Power" docuseries on Nintendo. It's 5 episodes, each episode a little over an hour on Crackle.
Got through the first episode. The one focused on Nintendo's beginnings as a card manufacturer, and how in the 50s it started to get into the toy business, struck a deal with Disney to make Disney cards and other games, and then started to get into electronics with their their light guns, which ultimately pulled them into the video game market. That's pretty much where the first episode ends.
Unlike a few recent video game docuseries, this series spends a decent amount of time on all of Nintendo's history, from the late 1800s until today. Most of the other series just focused on the nostalgia of the 1970s through the mid to late 1990s.

I've bought a ton of games that were on sale on PSN over the past several weeks. Many were just short time wasters or such, but one in particular bears mentioning... Murdered: Soul Suspect.
Normally $19.99, I got it on sale for $1.99. This is a steal given the quality of the game.
The basic premise is that you are the ghost of a detective who is killed while pursuing a murderer and must solve the case to move on. This entails searching for clues at crime scenes and connecting them to solve the case. There are a limited number of enemies in the game, which are really more of a puzzle than a typical battle.
I really only have 2 complaints.
1. The "world" is not huge, but there is no map, and a few times I found myself lost while trying to find a specific location because I forgot exactly where it was.
2. Occasionally the button prompts could be finicky (as in, they would not appear unless you were at a very specific distance from the target). This is a mild annoyance when searching for clues or collectibles... it can mean death if it happens with enemies.
These don't ruin the game by any means, but they do bear mentioning.
Overall, it was pretty fun, and very creepy (It so happens to take place in Salem). I give it a

Beat Gears of War 4. It gets a lot of **** on Reddit, but I still enjoyed it. I’m at the point where I think I’m just going to play the entire series backwards until Gears 6 is released.

That's sort of how I feel about Arkham Origins. People bag on it a lot, and it's far from the strongest game in the series, but it's tons of fun in its own right.
City
Origins/Asylum
Knight
Although it's maybe unfair to rank Knight at all, because the stupid Batmobile mechanic/forced missions were terrible and made me quit the game around 5 or 6 hours in.
