From Respawn Entertainment comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original Star Wars™ story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars™: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith™. The game will be releasing Holiday 2019.

It's slated to come out later this year and they're just announcing it in April?

It will be a rushed, buggy, disappointing mess like most recent EA titles.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they've been working on this since before Battlefront 2 came out. But the norm is to announce a AAA game like 18 months to two years out. Especially something from a flagship in-house developer like Respawn.

Respawn did a good job with Apex and they announced it shortly before the release...

Diablo 3. Yay or nay? Worth a blind buy?

But that's an in-house IP, not licensed. This Jedi game will be canonical to the SW universe and will likely be co-promoted with Ep IX.
And wasn't the PUBG announcement only a few months before its release?

The new Star Wars game is not using Frostbite, which is a problematic (but beautiful) game engine. A very sad article about how difficult it is to use/debug and all of the problems it caused in Anthem’s development. So I guess that’s good news.

Which platform? Switch? I've been playing it for years now on PS3 and now PS4.Diablo 3. Yay or nay? Worth a blind buy?
I have seen some complaints that some stuff is broken in the Switch version, but can't offer any specifics.
The combat is really fun, imo. Some people who were super into Diablo 2 don't like it as much... I don't share that opinion, but I came into it on console after a lot of the initial issues had been dealt with from the launch.

Yeah, that was a good but tough article. It's going to be hard for BioWare to recover - they're going to have to nail the next Dragon Age game if they want to save any face.A very sad article about how difficult it is to use/debug and all of the problems it caused in Anthem’s development. Too bad none of it is gameplay footage...

Retro Replay is one of my favorite things in the world. They teased the next episode (this Thursday) they might be playing Uncharted. I will have a fanboi squeak out if I get to watch Nolan North playing as Nate Drake.

Getting into Division 2 pretty good right now. feels like there's so much to do, in depth wise with guns and loot. Filling my need until BL3.

New PlayStation specs released during an interview with Wired magazine: https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-s ... n-console/
New AMD Ryzen CPU/GPU
SSD with the software/hardware framework to take advantage of those higher read/write speeds, unlike current PS4 infrastructure. The designer said that Spider-man loads on a PS4 Pro in about 15 seconds; on the new PlayStation it loads in .8 seconds.
Backwards compatible with PS4, and obviously still have an optical disc drive

But how many teraflops does it have?

SSD on a console is baller.

I switched my PS4 Pro to SSD on my own.
Backwards compatible? Sony? Yeah, okay. Quote me.

Why not? Xbox has been able to do it.I switched my PS4 Pro to SSD on my own.

Sony sells their old console games as PSN games. Yes, they *can* do backwards compatibility. But it doesn't make $$$ sense to do it.

Eh, when a game is announced as BC on Xbox One, the sales spike dramatically on the Microsoft store. There are still ways to make money off of it. BC is something fans are demanding and Sony has announced that PS5 will have it. I can't see them going back on it now.

Also I just saw that it'll be 8k (upscale). That seems super premature and a pointless "feature" to tout.

Like when they launched the PS3 with backwards compatibility and then removed it early in the product cycle?
I want them to have backwards compatibility and I sincerely hope you are right. If it is there I will be an early adopter. I'm just looking at current behavior and the precedent they have set so I think having reservations about it is understandable.
