I just fired up Ghost Recon Wildlands. An hour or so in, it's a lot more fun than I was expecting.

I'm just running around doing quests and side missions to level up skills and kit. Then I'll move on to actual story and crank it out.

BFV beta. Not a fan. EA is seemingly trying to kill another beloved franchise.

PUBG 1.0 is pretty awesome. Sanhok is a ton of fun and completely different from the two large maps. Got the first Sanhok win playing duos yesterday and the nicest part of the new map is that a full game took 24 minutes as opposed to the large maps where a full game can take 35-40 minutes.

In other news, NHL 19 releases next week.

Picked up a PSVR last week. Tried it out and formed the opinion that although interesting, the resolution is just too low for any kind of meaningful immersion. The best way I can describe it is that it looks like watching a 4k TV through the viewfinder of an old digital camera. Scan line city when you try to look at objects on the horizon; specifically GT:S VR looks great in the car but when you look down the track it resembles GT2.

The idea is cool but it isn't here yet, it feels a lot like a beta product. Going to sell off or return the headset while I can. If anyone is dying for a PSVR at a discount hit me up, was used about two hours total.

The Star Wars mission from Battlefront was pretty dope. You get to pilot a X-Wing.

You can do that in Shadows of the Empire, which is probably a superior game.

You can? I remember the A-Wing and the Outrider levels but not the X-Wing.

Missed the VR implication.

But still accurate, probably.

Probably, the first one was crap. The second was pretty solid.

You had to have all the Challenge Points or use cheats. On the final level, you could switch to an X-Wing or a TIE Fighter.

^ it actually makes it a little harder. You can only use 3rd person view, and the HUD disappears.

But the A-Wing is far superior to the X-Wing.

I'm typically not into the FPS thing... the Metroid Prime trilogy being a huge exception (but that is Metroid... and I love Metroid)... but just saw this Doom Eternal gameplay video last night and it looks pretty damn sick. Apologies if posted before, but looks like this came out when I was on vacation.

1st big expansion for Destony 2 came out Tuesday. Lot of QoL improvements. Haven't had much time to play (2 story missions tops) but looking forward to grinding the hell out of it this weekend.

I have a buddy that is trying to convince me to buy it. I haven't played Destiny at all but it looks dope. I'll probably end up getting it...

So far so good. Without spoiling too much of the story, I got to the point where I met The Spider and unlocked the Tangled Shore free roam area, so I'm looking forward to digging into more of it tonight. I've heard favorable comparisons to the Taken King expansion and so far it's right there. I enjoy story-driven games and this is pretty much the most ominous story we've seen so far.

Yeah, got the Spider and patrol area then went to do a bunch of bounties and left off there. Got one of the new Titan supers as well so that side quest was a ton of fun.

I miss my old gear (I think I used the same primary since November) but am enjoying using something different for a change. I've also run into a bit of choice overload with what to do next. I don't want to level too high for the story but there's so much else to do.

I got to play a bit of it back in January or February. The controls are a bit wonky, but, once you get sorted, traversal around NYC is a hoot. It's almost worth playing just for doing that stuff. I really dislike superhero stuff, but I'll probably pick this game up at some point.
