Played City Skylines on XBone and decided it would be better in PC. I love this game. It's SimCity but 1000x more in depth. It's beautiful to look at too. I'll just let it ride for a little bit and zoom in to watch the population. It's so detailed you can actually watch someone leave their house and drive to work.

I guess it's kinda creepy too...

I’ve had this for years, but I don’t think I’ve ever played it for some reason. I guess overwhelmed by it?

I played Sim City 2000 for hundreds of hours back in the day, when I was (obviously) younger and had more time. Naturally, I was excited when a new Sim City came out a few years ago...but it was total ass. Had to be online, very limited, and just garbage. City Skylines devs decided to make their game after that new Sim City debacle.

Guess I need to give it another shot.

Lol sometimes the internet uses its power for good. They also are unlocking free to play games so Warzone, Fortnite, and others no longer require Live.

It's super in depth and complicated but there are lots of good videos to help you get started. If you're playing with the standard rule set (limited money and resources, etc.) once you get to a certain point it's mostly just upkeep while being creative. But getting started is tough when you don't know anything.

This friggin thing let's you place no parking signs. That's how detailed it can get.

Add traffic and building modes and it becomes fantastic.

I just started looking into those. I got Traffic Manager: Presidential Edition but haven't had a chance to really get into it yet. Traffic is such a pain. Circles are my friend.

Evidently, I started a city in it in 2017. It's still saved in the cloud, so that's a good starting point. Probably going to watch a tutorial and start over.

Man, lots of DLCs for it too...

I really liked this video. He has a real solid plan to get you going.

There's also City Planner Plays City Builders which is a good channel.

The old SimCity games... Man, the nostalgia. I remember looking at the cityscapes from SimCity 2000 in awe. Being a map/geography nerd, I spent countless hours making road systems and city grids.

Finally managed to snag a preorder on a ps5 bundle from Gamestop the other day. Just went through the motions waiting for it to tell me it was no longer available, but that never happened... Got the confirmation email eventually.

Have to wait till mid February to actually get it, but don't have to worry about the chase anymore.

Didn't really want Demon's Souls, but I would've bought an extra controller and Miles Morales anyway, so not awful.

BTW, saw this posted on Reddit, and figured some here might appreciate it. It's 100x better than MS's site for searching for GP games.

Think I'm done with BOTW for now. Moved onto DC Super Villians and playing through with the kids. We finished 14 of the 21 story boards. We usually just go through story mode to unlock the players we need, then go through free play and explore the overworld for all the rest.

It is amazing though how DC and Marvel have essentially the same characters with slight differences.

Hehe I made recreational pot legal in my wee city in Cities: Skyline. That definitely was not a thing back with Sim City 2000!

Miles Morales is pretty fun so far. Just different enough from the original to make it interesting.

Only complaint I have thus far is that my ps4 to ps5 data transfer won't work. It always cancels part way through copying game data across... pretty annoying. It copied the save data but the actual game data won't work. It's not the end of the world but still sucks.

I did one comparison between ps4 and ps5 w/ Immortals Fenyx Rising... it takes like 45 seconds to a minute to load your save on PS4, it's like maybe 5 seconds on PS5. Along with the faster startup, you can be up and playing in like 1/8 of the time from inserting disc to being in game.
