Yeah, same on the lack of content. It's starting to come out now though. Very pleased with Operation Underground, although it runs like ****. Pacific should be good. I'm on PC. Hopefully, the next BF will be cross-platform.

Is there even smoke in COD? It sounds like you're making excuses for poor map design.
there is smoke

So I picked up Skyrim special edition for the ps4. Sifting thru mods now. I haven't picked up the game since I accidentally deleted my 165 hour save file 3 years ago on the ps3. Hoping some of the mods give it a rejuvenated look and feel, cause I'm kind of excited to jump in again.

Visually, with the play of light and shadow and smoke effects and fidelity of the photogrammetry, COD MW is the most stunningly realistic video game I've ever played. The characters look mo-capped, but I'm not sure if they did performance capture of the faces or key framed the animation; some of the dialog closeups in cutscenes are a little uncanny valley-ish, but overall, it's just incredibly convincing.

Finally got to sit down and play Link's Awakening on the Switch. What a great game. Built a lot like Link to the Past, which is my favorite all time, but with great visuals.

I never played the original for GameBoy, but from reading around, they kept the game pretty much intact with just visual enhancements and maybe a few other upgrades.

The Outer Worlds is pretty fun. I like the style and story so far, if you have game pass I would recommend it.

Had a lot of fun with the M1 Garand in BFV today. The benefits of being home sick with bronchitis with a steroid shot...

Same, my new favorite weapon. Being that it took this long to hear the ping, is a travesty.

EA had their big quarterly or annual update.

Apex will be an annual shooter, with almost 70 million unique players since launch.

Next Battlefield title will be out during FY 2022, which means April 2021-March 2022. I'd expect an October/November 2021 launch. I still think BFV was rushed out too quickly with not enough pre-release development, so it's good that BFV will get an extra year of support and content and another team at DICE will get three plus years to work on their next BF title.

So much ground to cover in WWII, and the game is finally getting into a good place technically and content wise.

A bit late to the party but the Upside Down arena for the Rocket League Stranger Things tie-in is really well done.

The first time I played it I kept getting distracted driving around looking at stuff.

I like what I have seen/heard a lot so far. Sounds like it is still quite a ways off from release. Open world with 5 contiguous zones as opposed to acts... non-linear campaign, weather, day/night cycles... mounts... will have towns that are social hubs kinda like POE, can trade, join groups, or ignore everyone... return of PvP.

Picked up Blaster Master Zero during the Steam Halloween sale. It's a pretty faithful homage to the original that largely replicates the original game's levels and structure with lots of new features and gameplay, as well as improved graphics. The original Blaster Master was one of my favorite games, and I'm really enjoying this one. The only quibble I have is one that's been mentioned in a bunch of review I've read—namely, the game is too easy. In the overhead parts where you fight most of the bosses, it's pretty easy to keep your character's gun maxed out, and the top-level gun cuts through most bosses like a hot chainsaw through butter. Still a good game, though.

One week until Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is out. Some of the community streamers have been reviewing the new civilizations with their beta access and it looks like a heck of a lot of fun. You can find them on YouTube. T90Official, and TheViperAOC.

Sounds cool except for the part about having to concentrate on walking step by step

I want to be interested, but it seems like something that was a good idea, but badly executed. I'm sure it will look pretty, but the bits and pieces I've seen of people playing it on youtube it looks pretty boring. Like the same fetch quest over and over. Maybe it's just not for me.

From what I've seen it's just a movie with a walking simulator built-in.

I loved Blaster Master growing up. The only thing I used to hate about it (and same as Rygar), was that is was a fun, great game, but there was no save or password feature. It was one of those games that took a while to beat, not long enough like a Zelda or Metroid, but also not short enough for an hour or two play through like Mario.

It's on the NES Switch game list, so you can save and play whenever. I'm going to give it a run through over the holidays. See if I remember everything.

Absolutely. That game was an absolute marathon to beat. Even the speedruns on YouTube are around 30 minutes. The lack of a save system was the game's greatest flaw.

Rygar—that was a great game too. I have't thought about that game in years

Just finished Far Cry 5...
What a sh*tty f*cking ending... Seriously. I might never play another Far Cry again because of that ending. I mean in Far Cry 4, I didn't kill the main bad guy either, but I was cool with it because I chose not to kill him. That ****? Everyone's dead and you're just chillin in the bunker with a psycho? Nah bro. I'm out.

Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction, too. I played both endings, and the other one isn't any better....... actually, the other one is worse.

2 is underrated imo. 3 is really good. 4 is fantabulous. 5 just........... falls short. It just asks a bit too much in terms of suspension of disbelief and in wonky storytelling to be be good.
