I've had the Witcher 3 in my gog library for about a year now, finally decided to play it. Holy **** does it run like garbage on my PC - despite my rig exceeding all the recommended specs. GPU was taxed at 100% even on the lowest settings and the fans sounded like they were trying to escape the atmosphere.

6-3 can also go die in a fire. I just had to walk away after 20 straight minutes of dying over and over.

That entire act is just pure evil. I simply cannot beat parts of 6-2 without the Jump n slash technique, and the whole going back to the start of the entire act if you die on one of the 3 bosses can gtfo.6-3 can also go die in a fire. I just had to walk away after 20 straight minutes of dying over and over.
I have never beaten all 3 in one shot... I did beat the first 2 in a row once, but then died on the damn Demon. I've never been able to avoid the head when it rolls off, and that takes literally half your health bar. Someone did prove it was possible to avoid, but I am not masochistic enough to go back and try to learn it at this point...

6-2 also sucks. I finally got to the first boss and got my ass handed to me....and was promptly sent back to 6-1. At that point I just shut it off and walked away. That entire act is just pure evil. Ran through Castelvania Bloodlines on Genesis yesterday. Tough, but doable. I also think it's the best Castlevania game overall. The soundtrack is amazing. Better than Symphony of the Night, and better than Super Castlevnia IV (I started playing through this one again too recently).

Having to start back at the beginning of Act 6 in Ninja Gaiden after dying at a boss fight is just pure, pure, evil.

Yeah I still haven't gone back to it after I posted. I know I can do it, but it's realllllly frustrating.Having to start back at the beginning of Act 6 in Ninja Gaiden after dying at a boss fight is just pure, pure, evil.

Last time I played it I did on the switch NES channel so I can save load points and if I did die on the boss, I'd just rewind. Yes, I cheated, but I wasn't putting myself through that hell again.Yeah I still haven't gone back to it after I posted. Speaking of which, I still need to go through and beat Rygar and Blaster Master on there. Those were two other games you could play all day, but if you died, or had to quit, there was no save function.

That was a fantastic game. I'd still say Symphony of the Night is my favorite, but being a massive Metroid fan, I'm instantly biased towards the Metroidvanias.Ran through Castelvania Bloodlines on Genesis yesterday. twc, did you play Metroid Dread yet (I'm assuming you did). Got it for Xmas but haven't started yet. That is next on my list before the new Zelda comes out.

I started playing it but got distracted and never went back to finish it. I'm not real thrilled with the Stealth stuff in the game.twc, did you play Metroid Dread yet (I'm assuming you did). Got it for Xmas but haven't started yet. That is next on my list before the new Zelda comes out.
A lot of people love the game though.
I do need to get back to it at some point.

My SIL got me hyrule warriors age of calamity for Xmas because she knew I liked zelda. Just popped it in on Friday to see what it is all about.
It's a crapload of button mashing and slashing but is attictive. Decent story and small rpg feel behind it too. Glad I tried it. I'm enjoying it.

I enjoyed it at first too and then the time you have to kill half a million enemies in gets smaller and smaller and it just becomes a repetitive frustrating mess. But it is mindless fun up until that point.

Crap. Well with my ocd to compete games and as close to 100% as possible, I'm going to force myself through that misery.
Like you said though, it's mindless fun right now and has gotten me excited for the new zelda.

Finally finished up the main story in Hogwarts Legacy. I'm at the 70 hour play mark, so I obviously took my time. Overall, this game is just awesome. Fun game and combat mechanics, IMO, and the world itself is fun and interesting. I may spend some more time with it, but have no desire to 100% it.
I also picked up Wild Hearts with a giftcard I had. I'm a sucker for Monster Hunter type games, and this one definitely scratches that itch. It's amazing how addictive these games can be, at least for me. I'd read about some performance issues and minor gripes, but so far so good.
I'll also be picking up MLB 23 here this week, and the EA PGA Tour game comes out next week or the following week, so I'll be cashing in more giftcards here in the near future.
