I saw a video on Twitter of new Series X smoking.
Turns out it was people blowing vape clouds into them.

Games being $70 is poop, but at least they're not $100 yet.

I don't even know why I care this much. My PS4 Pro works just fine... I still have a backlog of games to get through, etc but there is new tech and I want it. What a disaster of a launch by Sony. The PS4 launch was nowhere near this bad. Just venting.

Yea I had a release day PS4 no problem, and that PS4 is still alive and well (knock on wood).
This is going to be a pretty major upgrade at the moment, I planned for after the new year, but might as well get in the hunt now.

Imagine buying a $500+ new console then blowing vape clouds into it for the lolz. Those vape clouds leave a weird residue on everything (you notice it most on glass/windows). That can't be good for the console.I saw a video on Twitter of new Series X smoking.

Also re: the PS5/Xbox stock issue, I wonder if it has anything to do with the pandemic and slower manufacturing than expected.

My concern is the OS programming, which is always buggy for the first iteration of a new console...then add engineers working from home into the mix. Yikes.

The OS would be one of my least concerns, because it can be resolved remotely via a software update.

Yea the OS is like things I don't even think about.
Can I play games? Does my machine work correctly with no hardware failures? Good to go.

Also, the Series X OS has been the Xbox OS for weeks now (and months before that if you consider preview/beta users). The biggest concern is the console itself bricking. And even that isn't a huge concern since it's under warranty and I would hope Sony/Microsoft has systems set aside for repairs/replacements.

There are some absolutely awful people in the gaming community. There are a ton of awesome ones too, but I never understood buying something just to smash it? Like it makes zero sense.

Update. I had to do unspeakable things to get mini meow an animal crossing switch. Now I need game recommendations for a six year old and a 34 year old.

Console wars made more sense to me when I was a kid and my mom wouldn’t get me a SNES because she already bought me a Genesis. So in my mind I had to somehow convince myself that my system was better.

Mario Kart is always a good choice for Nintendo consoles. I'm behind in what are the current Mario platformers, but those are always good for all ages.

Very humbling though, when your kids start beating you in Mario Kart.

If Mrs Meow wants in you could also do Mario Party

Production of the Switch was hampered, because it launched right at the outset of this mess. But the new Sony and MSFT boxes have been relatively unaffected. There was a concern about potential supply chain delays early on, but to my knowledge it never really came to pass. The shortages are more demand-driven the supply-limited.Also re: the PS5/Xbox stock issue, I wonder if it has anything to do with the pandemic and slower manufacturing than expected.

WTF is going on with the GPU market? I'm seeing $250 cards that are all well over $300. These aren't new cards, either. 2060/5600XT have been out for months to two years already.

Demand is at an all-time high, and production has been slowed/delayed. This is the worst possible time to buy a GPU or build a computer.WTF is going on with the GPU market? I bought a new processor cooling fan for my PC back in March that I still haven't installed. I just don't feel like dicking around with removing the board and all that stuff right now, and I've been too lazy to take it to a shop. So I haven't actually used my desktop/gaming PC for 8 months.
