I'm sure I will end up playing this at some point, because I'm a sucker for the IP. But that doesn't look very encouraging. The end shot of the space station orbiting all out alone in the dark is reminiscent of the menu screens from Alien: Isolation, so I'm wondering if this is a continuation of that story. Which would mean an entirely different interaction between Colonial Marines and Xenos taking place within the same setting as the game in the interstitial years between Alien and Aliens.

Tl;dr - If my read is correct, they keep making this IP goofy.

I have a midnight shift coming at work this week where I’ll be sitting on a bridge line, but don’t expect to be doing much. Gonna give Xbox cloud gaming a shot on my PC, just need to figure out which game to play.

The Xbox/Bethesda showcase was super disappointing. Forza looks good I suppose but it always does so not all that exciting. I don’t see myself playing any other game showcased.

Everything but the guns - that action just looks awful. But I'm also used to Halo Infinite, which has absolutely beautiful gun mechanics and visuals.

Combat is always a little janky in BGS games. It's backseat to the RPG and open world aspects.

Big No Man's Sky fan, and Starfield seems like a re-skin, imo.

Star field looks like a Bethesda version of The Outer Worlds. I’d be mainly interested in the ship flight and combat; not another fps rpg.

I sat through most of that crap just because there was a rumor that they would be announcing the Diablo 4 release date (which did happen)... Most of the other stuff was irrelevant to me since I don't have an Xbox. I bailed hard the second that was over.

Tried playing Outriders via the Xbox app (installed, not cloud) on my daughter's Surface Pro 7+, but it's just not going to happen. The Intel GPU just can't handle anything, even at the lowest settings. Thought about borrowing my dad's Alienware, which runs an RTX 3060, but I really don't want to drag that thing around the airport along with all of the other **** that'll be in my backpack. Movies via the Kindle Fire it is.
