I would actually be curious to see what better games thought of Halo, COD, etc. in terms of difficulty. I played COD long ago, too, and while I'm sure it has changed a lot, I still view that as being an easier MP game if only because of the weapons and movement. Halo is just on another level, especially movement.

I've never played Dark Souls, but I am guessing some of these bosses in Hollow Knight rival it in terms of difficulty. After dying 34 times to one of the secret bosses last night I rage quit a game for the first time in a while. Great game though.

I spent an hour yesterday watching Halo MP videos from Lucid (ranked #1), and I still can't comprehend how he plays the way he does. It was just a thing of beauty.

Man, this might be my favorite video game song since the early 2000s. Haunting and beautiful, especially in the context of the story. This soundtrack is so good. Reminds me of Chrono Trigger.

So a few years after the great Blizzcon debacle, blizzard announced what they should have done all along... Diablo Immortal is now going to be available on PC as well. Will be Cross-play AND cross-progression... meaning you could slay demons while taking a ****, then pick up later on the PC.

Imagine if they had just done this from the start...

I built my last gaming rig like 10+ years ago, and the only updates I ever made were RAM and storage; I'm out of the PC gaming business now, to the extent that that desktop rig has been powered off and disconnected for over 2 years at this point since I decided to not address a faulty proc cooling issue. FPS on consoles aren't so bad for me because I only ever do SP/campaigns, but I can imagine a controller up against someone on an MK setup in an MP match would be tough sledding at best.

Depends on the game. The difference in COD is negligible. Sniping is easier on PC, sure, but the console aim assist puts you on the same level for "reg" guns. And if you can make the PC player miss their first snipe shot, they're easy pickings. If you have a controller with paddles, you're at the same level as m&k if not above thanks to the aim assist.

Now, there is no aim assist in PUBG so I would definitely not want to be in a lobby with m&k players.

Also, the PlayStation spring sale is on, but note it expires in a day or two. Far Cry 3 Classic was available to me for free for some reason, so I downloaded that. And apparently they ported the original Crysis to consoles some time ago; the whole trilogy was available for like $30, so I grabbed that, as well.

Haven't played any of those games since they were new, nor on console, so this should be fun.

For Halo Infinite, the biggest advantage PC players have (IMO) is movement. If you watch gameplay on YouTube, these guys can do 360s in the blink of an eye. It's crazy how fast the movement is. That said, I recall seeing that the best Halo players were actually all controller players.

Got an alert for the EVGA RTX 3060 I have been tracking for months, now available on Amazon for $389.99. God damn thing changed to $519 right as I was checking out. Amazing.

Guess it was my lucky day. Nowinstock showed an ASUS RTX 3060 (same specs as the EVGA) in stock for $409, sold and shipped by Amazon. Snagged it.

I'm going to have to set one of those up for this summer. I'm on a strict "no-spending any money on frivolous things" until we move and stop paying rent and mortgage. Ugh. I was going to upgrade two PCs, but probably only replace my son's 1050ti with a 3060 in June or July.

But guess what? China has COVID lockdowns in the regions that mine materials for chips. So the shortage is going to get worse again.

I spent $569 for a 6700xt gpu….this is going to be the third pc in as many years lol!
2020-built pc for kids as we only had one for online learning. I enjoyed gaming so much I built my own in 2021, and now the twin teens needed a second up to date PC. Youngest is happy to get the old pc because it runs fortnite, minecraft, and Roblox great.

I used to build a new PC every 3 years, but decided it wasn't worth it for me. That's why I went all out on the Ryzen 9, etc. in this one. I plan to keep this one for a very long time, just as I did my previous i7 unit.

I’ve used the same case and mb in all three of the pc builds
2020 has a 3700x processor and 2070super gpu
2021 has a 5600x and 3070
2022 has a 5600x and 6700xt

AMD crew. I am proud of all of you. I've never built an Intel PC, because I'm cheap and always prefer to spend elsewhere. The 1050ti was an emergency replacement for a 270x on my then media server, now elder son's gaming PC. 1050ti is one hell of a card, but really can't run the recent BF games well. It runs everything else he plays reasonably well, but it's time to upgrade it. Only have been trying for 3 years lol.

My R5 2600 and 5700XT is OK for now. BF 2042 doesn't run well on the 128 player servers, but 80-90fps on 64 player servers. Then again, I'm not playing 2042 now because it sucks and my gaming PC is 80 miles away at home. I really need to get back to gaming for fun, and not these frustrating games like BF.

My kids are having a blast with The Show, even doing Creat a Player or whatever it's called. Usually with sports games it's a card collecting, skill challenges to unlock more cards/players, and they rarely play an entire game (Madden, FIFA, previous versions of The Show).
