So you can't play Portal 2 on PS5? That's.... odd.

I think both Portal games were PS3 gen, and I don't think they were ever updated to PS4. Physical discs would be a no-go, but you might be able to play them on a 5 if those titles are available digitally via PS Now or +.

I've never understood Steam. Injecting a middleman into the purchase of software for no discernable reason. I tried to fire up MSFS today and it took ~15 minutes because Steam was doing a cloud update. Ended up returning the game for a full refund and just buying it from Microsoft for the same price. Uninstalled Steam afterward. If I need those two racing games I bought 4 years ago I'll go ahead and reinstall it.

I like all my games in one place, with one launcher, under one account. For example, I refuse to buy Epic exclusives until the year of exclusivity is over and they're available on Steam. I don't want to have to install 10 different game stores to buy video games. YMMV.

Yeah, I don't really like all of the launchers/stores these days. My kids' PCs have at least 3-4 of those things running in the background, even as they delete games they don't play and I disable the launchers from starting at Windows startup. Just another set of passwords and 2FA to worry about. Ugh.

And get this - EA has two! They have Origin, which has been around for years, but also EA Play which is in beta testing. Origin nags you to try EA Play, but only some games work with EA Play, so you still need both installed. So dumb. But typical of EA.

Back in my PC gaming days I had Steam and Origin and that was enough to be frustrating. I can't imagine trying to manage more than that. lol

(I think the only games I ever even played through EAO were the Medal Of Honor reboots [which are very underrated titles imo])

Walkabout mini golf on VR is easily one of the best games I've played on VR. Definitely the best golf mechanics I've played. There is a labyrinth theme course coming out next week. Highest recommendation.

If I play the rock climbing game, I have to lay down for an hour or so to get my bearings back. That and the rollercoaster game make me sick.

Speaking of getting sick when flying, No Man's Sky had a major update. Love the game, just can't play it too long or I get motion sick.

I have friends on my steam list that play farming and lawn simulator hours on end. I don't get it.

I saw a Flight Attendant simulator in one of the stores recently. Personally, I'm holding out for Telemarketer or Data Entry Simulator.

What is the best VR headset/system out right now that won't break the bank?

Most popular. Are we talking downloads and installs, or actual playing?

I believe it's most played by month, but I could be wrong. But that would explain why Forza is #1 with the Hot Wheels expansion just released.

I looked into it the other day, and the Quest 2 is definitely a more affordable option with their Meta being the new flagship. If it was a little more reasonable, I might give it a shot, though I imagine that my daughter would use it way more than I did. I'm still basically all in on Halo.

It's a ton of fun BTW. Good progression system and the Hot Wheels track driving is pretty entertaining after the learning curve.

Downloads and installs are metrics publishers will tout, because those are more analogous to 'sales'. Popularity on platform is usually a measure of use of the platform, e.g. time played. To your point, some of those other top 10 titles are 5 or 6 years old, they aren't really picking up new downloads now.

My wife and I just beat Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time since I was a kid.

We did it on original Nintendo hardware on a CRT tv sitting on a beanbag chair as it was intended to be done.

Doesn't that take like 45 minutes if you use both warp whistles?
