I get so confused with xbox online play. Is the Xbox game pass thing all I need to play online with other people or is that different?
You'll need either Xbox Live or Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Live is the base online service, enabling multiplayer online. I believe it's $60/year but there are sales throughout the year that can lower that price. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is Live + a gaming subscription service. Basically Netflix for games. $14.99/month. I'm not sure if you can pay per year.
Thanks, that helps out a lot. I could have sworn I was paying $14.99 just for live.

Why not both?

Honestly, you can't go wrong either way. PS5 has the best exclusives, Xbox has Game Pass. If I could get both, I would. I'm going Xbox because I've been an Xbox guy since the OG, my friends all have Xbox which makes partying up easier, and I prefer the controller.
So yea, I will have both eventually - the challenge I have is which one do I want first lol.

Did you actually buy it? That seems like a good deal even with just having my X here.

Well that was every bit as big of a **** show as I expected. Order finally processed through Microsoft though so it looks like I'm good. Got my confirmation email and everything. Target and Walmart were a joke.

Got my confirmation through MS as well. The only thing that took time for me was loading the shipping details.

My coworker was not so lucky on the MS website. His crashed before he could even get to the pre-order button. But he just told me he got it from Target.

Damn I tried Target first. Had it in my cart and was confirming the order but it told me they were sold out.

He said he had it in his cart and when he went to checkout it told him his cart was empty. Then when he re-added it, it said the cart was full.

Yeah mine did the same thing. Eventually I got a message saying unable to purchase since items in my cart were sold out. It does seem like others had luck by refreshing that, but I had already given up and moved onto Microsoft's page.

I pre-ordered another from Amazon for my nephew. I didn't realize that his dad was also on Amazon pre-ordering. I considered selling my pre-order on eBay for $1k, but I ended up offering it to my friend. Missed opportunity.

So you can't just use an external SDD you have to use their cards? That's kind of lame...

No, I believe you can plug in any external via USB. This is the expansion port stuff that promises "faster" speed.
