Are either NHL 20 or Madden 20 worth it? They're heavily discounted in Microsoft's Store right now, but the reviews on the site are awful (contrary to Amazon reviews).

Damn, I have NHL 20 in my cart because I'd prefer hockey. I haven't played an NHL game since... the Sega Genesis days.

If it's discounted go for it. It's not awful, but EA has never made NHL a priority this gen and it shows as it's unpolished compared to Madden.

I play nhl from time to time just as a quick 20 minute time killer. Madden I played alot more though. I only play offline though not an online gamer. The franchise mode in NHL is clunky IMO. Hard to invest in it.

If you haven't played a hockey game in a while I'd recommend getting it. I think Skullman only says it's meh because he buys every year (if I'm not mistaken) and it's not much of a step up from 19 or 18.

But if you haven't played since Genesis that shouldn't affect your decision.

I do buy it every year even when I know it's not great haha.

I went ahead and bought NHL 20 and Team Sonic Racing (local multiplayer). $42 for both total.

Man, I really wish there was an NHL game for PC. I own 09, so I can mod it and add current rosters etc but the AI is bad and the game cannot do a 31 team NHL.

The Last Of Us Part II has been delayed indefinitely, citing logistical considerations.

Maybe now isn't the best time to release a game set in a world stricken by a global pandemic in which The Infected are actively trying to kill you.

If they make it into a VR version they could consider it a simulator

I’ll have to play more, but so far NHL 20 has been meh. Not really a fan of using the sticks for everything, either. May try out the NHL 94 controls just for the hell of it.

Once you get used to the skill stick you will never stop using it. It's the best thing they ever did. It's been that way since 2014 I think? It does take time to get used to it though. The AI of the cpu and your cpu teammates never gets better though haha.

on my niece's recommendation I've downloaded Animal Crossing to my Switch. looking forward to, as she put it, a "relaxing" fun game.
bought NHL20 last night for my PS4 because it was on a good sale.

That’s the only reason I bought it - it’s currently under $20 on MS’s store.

Tif.

Why do PS+ months not align with the actual calendar month? Licensing weirdness or Sony incompetence?

They do? It's billing that's not in alignment, unless you activated your sub on the 1st of your signup month.

Normally they refresh games on the 3rd or 4th of the month it seems for ps+. Never the 1st at least that I've seen. Which is what I think @dodint was saying.

Refresh my memory, do you get PS+ titles through Store or a separate app? Absent some sort of patching, they usually only update games on Store on Tuesdays because things still track to SoundScan, so Tuesday-Monday is the sales 'week'. But I thought that was just new content, not just new delivery of old content.

Yeah, sorry. I meant the PS+ free game months. April games start on the 7th or 8th.

Dirt 2.0 is one of April's.

Yeah put in the time to learn the skill stick. The game is much more enjoyable and you’ll be able to compete online (if you choose to do so).

Beat Gannon and up to 90 shrines
Yeah I'm up to 92 shrines now and about 53 side quests. I did defeat Ganon as well... As incredible and amazing as this game is, that was a letdown.

My six year old has completely fell in love with this game. In the last five days, she defeated the lynel up on top of Ploymus Mtn. by herself, and has also actually been farming ancient cores from guardians in Hyrule Field. Damn proud....my little gamer.

I need to pick this game back up. The issue is I totally forget where I left off because it was probably 8 months ago.

Okay, if it's through Store the timing is to coincide with the first Tuesday of the month because of sales tracking. Even through the games are free, the numbers still count towards certain certifications.
