Isn't there an Xbox One X already? Why name it X series? I"m getting flashbacks of Wii U

Yes, there is. MS isn't creating when it comes to naming conventions.

Just go buy a gaming PC. (I know, it's more about exclusives and playing with friends on the same console)
Seriously, I do hope this next generation is cross-play by default, even if it's just between the consoles.
Does the COD cross-play work?

I’ll probably trade in my one x for the x-series....I like to just turn it on to make it go.

I kinda dig the design, though I wouldn't at all be surprised if there's a redesign in its second year to make it more "console-like." The naming is a bad decision. How many confused parents will buy the One X when their kid asked for the Series X? Or how many people will think that it's just another incremental upgrade on the One? It could be WiiU all over again.
As with any console, I'll probably wait a year or more before I buy it. Not because I don't want it or to avoid the early adoption bugs/defects. I just can't justify $500 or more on a new console.

I have a vertical stand for my PS4P that has built-in USB powered cooling fans. For some reason, today it sounds more like a 1970 AMC Gremllin than a USB powered cooling fan for a game console.

There were three separate Xbox Gold trial codes in my Xbox packaging. Are these stackable, or is it basically once you load one you can no longer load another trial?

Depends entirely on the Ts & Cs of the offer. But usually this sort of thing is keyed to a gamerID kind of thing, and limited to one per.

I'm not even sure if that thing would fit on the shelf of my entertainment stand.

I need to use the original Xbox Duke controller with that beast.

Got my hands on the Funko minis for Horizon Zero Dawn... Don't care so much about the humans, but the machines are awesome... Especially the Tallneck.

So I got the Link's Awakening remake for Christmas. It was very well done, still calling BS on the price though. :p
Graphics and such are nice... Although I feel like the ocarina songs sound worse for some reason...
It's nice having a dedicated button for the Pegasus boots, but really wish they could have found a way to do the same with the feather...
There is still way too much item swapping in the game... I feel like roughly half your playing time is spent in the inventory screen.
One change I didn't care for was doubling the amount of seashells needed for the upgraded sword. This made it so that you get the upgrade pretty far into the game, maybe after level 6? Can't recall exactly. There is the color dungeon and the red shirt I guess... But I'd prefer if those were reversed really...
The dungeon maker thing seems like more of a pain than anything... I didn't particularly love the one I tried.
So in the end, about what I expected. $20 overpriced, but still a good game with some nice improvements.

Since I already had dusted off the Switch, I decided to try to get back into Breath of the Wild...
I really want to love this game. The weapon situation just really makes that difficult. I just want to explore, not worry about my weapons breaking all the damn time.
At any rate, I made a bit of progress and freed the first Divine Beast.
Unlocked a couple more towers... Got caught with metal gear in a thunderstorm.... Yay. Perhaps a bit TOO realistic there.
We'll see how it goes I guess... Is this weapon **** throughout the whole game or do you eventually get weapons that don't die after every battle?

Jedi Fallen Order is great so far.
Also been playing Stardew Valley on PC since the big 1.4 update. Tons of fun.

I have been playing BOTW and absolutely love it. Our family loves the Switch so far, my six year old has actually been playing BOTW and made it through the first phase of the game with very minimal help. It's great to see her solve the shrines. Mario Party is also a blast.

Flip-flopping between JFO and Spiderman, and both are fantastic.Jedi Fallen Order is great so far.

I started AC Odyssey finally, and got to put in about 10 hours. Best AC game yet IMO.

I don't think I've played a new AC game since the pirate one, which is my favorite. Do they handle the modern day stuff any better in Odyssey? That has always been the weak link in the games imo.
