Battlefront 2 has made a pretty decent comeback. Adding another planet and new modes soon (Felucia?)

It's been 10 years since NHL was on PC, and although NHL 09 still is available via Origin, and there are plenty of third party rosters, arena packs, AI upgrades, it sucks that they stopped making it for PC gamers.
The NHL series is basically the red headed step child for EA. Madden and Fifa are their moneymakers so they spend all their time there pretty much or so it seems.

I don't care to play Fortnite anymore but I just played a few matches with my soon to be 10 year old niece. What a good time.

Decided to finally actually play Horizon Zero Dawn... and it's pretty damn fun so far. I don't even remember why I didn't play it further when I first got it...

untitled goose game is terrific, dang kids took over the switch this weekend, so I only got to play goose a bit, but it was very fun and more challenging than I thought it was going to be. Kids are eating up Links Awakening, it looks gorgeous.

Picked up Zelda: Links Awakening for the Switch this weekend. Haven't got to play it yet, but plan on firing it up this week.

Can't wait.

Yeah, I bought it Sunday morning for our road trip and the kids loved it. I played for about 15 minutes before we left, and it was really a lot of fun. Much more logic based, which is cool and better than their usual fare (FIFA/Madden/Fortnite/Minecraft mods). Can't wait until tonight when they aren't allowed vidya games, so I can actually play for longer.

Weirdly both. It feels like classic COD in that it’s boots on the ground and realistic weapons. Which is good after dealing with jet packs and all that nonsense. But at the end of the day, it’s the same old ****. I was bored of it even with just the free beta. I doubt I’ll purchase.

A lot of Battlefield players were interested in this new iteration of COD because of Ground War. I was out of town this weekend, so never got around to playing any of the beta, but the few streams I watched of smaller modes it looked like recent CODs without jump packs and wall running. Ridiculous time to kill, bad spawns, endless killstreak nonsense, and so forth. A few major BF content creators (streamers/YouTubers) liked it, so they might set the lemmings off to buy it.

The only bonus for me is cross platform play, which hopefully DICE will have in the next BF title next year. I used to play Desert Combat and BF2 with my brother on PC for years, even when we lived in the same city. He moved over to PS3/4 to get off the constant PC rebuild/upgrade cycle, and I can't do shooters with controllers. Cross-platform play would get us playing together again for the first time in over 10 years. That might be worth getting it just for that.

I never played any of the goofy CODs, but I love a good shooter. Hopefully single-player will be worthwhile.

I found an awesome mod for Skyrim this morning.I'm not usually one to mod in things from other series, but it's tempting to play as The God of Thunder.

I am having a blast with Horizon Zero Dawn. Moreso now that I can override machines and ride them or watch them fight to the death with other machines.

One of things I liked about HZD was how the machines were a huge threat in the setting, and they were also equally threatening in gameplay. If you see a high level machine in the wild, you have to think twice about whether you want to engage it.

Indeed. Definitely need to think before you rush in.

I've also enjoyed systematically taking out bandit camps. The best is when one sees a body and comes running up the steps into a faceful of arrows.

Here's a hands on pre-access review of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020:

Taking data from Bing Maps and automatically generating a realistic 3D environment is insane. That means you can literally fly to your own house.
