Ugh, in my apartment we had a wasp nest up in the attic...I remember every day there would be several in the kitchen, where the drop-down door was. I made the landlord come and seal that sht up tight

Has anyone been noticing wheel bugs in their yard? They are in the assassin bug family...they are huge and I am starting to see them more and more. In any event, if you do see one, do not mess with it. Their bite packs a mean punch. They will generally leave you alone though.

It's a digger wasp (Great Black Wasp). Oddly enough I just killed one of these on my deck yesterday.

Awful pictures, but these are so small (1/8") that it's hard to focus on with my iPhone. We've been finding these in our master bathroom, and now our downstairs bathroom. Maybe 4-6 at a time. Can't tell where they're coming from at all, but our first step is to try and ID them. Anyone know?

Hmm, some of the pics for that look very, very close. That may be it, @Gaucho.

The only thing that doesn't seem to add up is that they feed on mildew/fungus. That's not a problem upstairs, and definitely not a problem downstairs.

Could be that one, too. Very similar in all aspects. I'll have to keep searching for a food source in the cabinets or something.

I found a concentration of them in our downstairs pantry, behind the cat food. Cleaned it all up and will be throwing out the old cat food that was stored in a bin. Hopefully they'll die off soon.

That's a great call @Kane.

@NTP66 as you probably already read those guys typically hitch a ride in contaminated bags of pet food. Is the bin you store the cat food in sealed?

It was not, but since we don't even use it anymore, I dumped it all. I'm going to empty the entire pantry tomorrow, clean everything, and go from there.

We had a similar problem with moths a couple of months ago. The larva liked open grains and whatnot, so now we have to bag up everything we open. I even found them in our napkins.

I'm thinking that something was spilled, because I keep all food in containers of some sort. Sugar, flour, and baking stuff like that all goes into separate gallon ziplock bags, etc.

I keep finding these damn things, now in more rooms in the house. Calling an exterminator tomorrow to see what I can do, because now it's becoming annoying. There aren't many of them, mind you, but when I find a few crawling in our bed, that's the end of the line.

I need an indoor solution. For the time being, I'm just going to be vacuuming the hell out of the carpeted areas, and vacuuming these little **** from the floor and walls until I can get pest control out here.

Found the source. I forgot that I left a bad of bird seed in my garage (didn't have room in the shed for it yet). **** are all in and around it. That's now double bagged and in the trash can, with a pest control guy coming tomorrow to lay down some spray.

I'd have dropped a quarter stick in the bag for good measure.

I sprayed the bag with bug killer before double-bagging it.
