One wonders if they could have mitigated some of this traffic by starting earlier in the day.

My initial order for the fire TV thing...not sure if it actually went. I got a confirmation screen but no email and no pending charge in my CC.

The 2nd order I did for 3 movies that were also on sale for prime day show up in my order history but no email on those.

I'll give it till tomorrow I guess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if their site issues also affect their email systems. Chances are that they’re on the same cloud platform that’s currently getting pounded from all angles.

Amazon's UK Prime Deals are much better, IMO. They have some high end DSLR gear for ridiculous discounts right now. If they would deliver to the US, I would buy a second D750 just to immediately re-sell on eBay for a massive profit.

I don't know much about mics but 4.4 out of 5 stars with over 6k reviews has to be decent.

Filter the reviews on 'confirmed purchases only', IMO.

Anyone here have the ecobee3 smart thermostat? I swear somebody bought one this year. @dodint, perhaps? I'm considering getting one if only for the remote sensor.

Good looking out, LBL. Thanks for the heads up, passed it to my gaming nerd friends that dont yet have wheels.

I never pulled the trigger on the Ecobee, not sure why.

Bought a pinpad deadbolt I have been meaning to get for the Latrobe house. Probably not SilentOm approved, but hey.

I got an Echo Show 5 for the kitchen for 50$ which is like 30 or 40 off normal price I think. That was all I was really looking to get since the wife wanted one. Will monitor some other things throughout the day though.

You just missed their big TV deal - a 70" Sony for 50% off ($800).

I keep looking at the Show, but can't come up with any use cases for it. What does your wife want it for?

It will probably just sit on the counter after a week or two, but she said she would use it to look up recipes and when she is cooking(to watch videos on cooking etc), and other things. I got the Echo Show 5 cause it was only 50$ and I wasn't going to invest in the nicer one if it was just going to sit around and collect dust after a few weeks. So best case she uses it, worst case it becomes something to play music on in the kitchen at random times.

Full disclosure I have an echo dot in the living room basically for the sole purpose of me being too lazy to turn the lights on and off manually, and one downstairs in the mancave for the same reason. I use them for random questions here and there, and play Sirius on them. Eventually I want to integrate them with smart locks and other switches, but for right now they are all just used casually.

 Yeah, I can see the recipes thing. I'd have to find a way to sync my own recipes to use them. The Show does integrate with my Ring doorbell, but it'd be pointless unless I was in the kitchen when motion was detected or the doorbell rang.

I'm sadly just looking for something in the 40-45 inch range
