I agree. I wonder if batteries actually get worse or if all the new batteries are better and yours seems like ass. Probably a combo of both

Batteries definitely lose capacity.

https://www.amazon.com/Castrol-03063-MA ... 00JGQLS64/

Castrol 03063 GTX MAGNATEC 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 Quart for $18. You can get it as low as $16 if you get the high mileage blend. I picked up two containers for my van. Nice.
I usually just get the deal-of-the-week with the filter at Advance Auto. Is this much different after I end up buying a $6-8 filter?
It dropped again, down to $12 in cart.

Saw that today and bought 2 jugs. Thank ya

My Pixel had terrible battery life...
Huh, what generation Pixel? I have a 2, and coming off an LG V10 that would not live a full workday without need of a charge, I've been kind of amazed at how robust the battery life is.
I had the OG Pixel XL.

Amazon said this year's Prime Day was "once again the largest shopping event" in its history.

The company said sales from its two-day shopping event surpassed its sales for last year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.

And yet the company lost 0.9% for the day, followed by another 0.6% during after-hours trading! (BTW the losses for Walmart were much smaller...)

I felt like there were half decent deals. Notably the stacking offers (I got an extra 50 off for using discover).

My wife finally discovered the Alexa App on her phone....oh boy. She never used it when we had the one echo and and echo dot, but now with the Echo Show she decided she wanted to "do stuff" with it. So now when she says Alexa, Goodbye... it tells her to have a nice day and then immediately starts playing Nsync's "Bye, Bye, Bye" for 30 seconds. The whole adding things to a shopping list was like a revelation to her as well.

I can only imagine what other routines she will be setting up now. I've created a monster.

Full disclosure... I use the command "Alexa, Give me darkness" to turn the living room lights off, and "Alexa, Let there be light" to turn those lights back on haha. Also when I say "Alexa, Pump me up" it plays Andrew WK "Party Hard".

First day with the echo show 5, and I love it. We listened to music, we played jeopardy together, I set it up to add stuff to our list app that we have on our phone (I really really like the list app, so I just enabled that skill rather than using Alexa's list stuff). I checked the weather this morning as I was making my daughter breakfast. Overall, very happy.

You can ask "Alexa, what's my flash briefing", and it should pull your local news station's headlines for the day if you want to avoid the TV.

I have a skill programmed to give me the Traffic to work, weather, and news updates by saying Alexa status report. I do enjoy that.

I have a custom skill that responds to my daughter when she asks Alexa if she can wear shorts today. The answer is always "it's too cold to wear shorts today" because she thinks Alexa overrules us. It has worked out well.

My wife is off pretty much the entire month of July. Went home for lunch and it turns out she's already in love with the echo show 5. Score.

I've been posting deals in the other thread because I didn't see this one. Lots of good deals today, actually.

I'll take Showtime for $1/mo for 2 months. A bunch of their other premium add-on channels are running similar deals.

I snagged an Echo Show 5 Kitchen (?) + Food Network subscription for my MIL. At $45 it was worth it. She'll never use it, but oh well. She's terrible to buy Christmas gifts for.

Didn't buy them on a deal or anything, but I feel bad for the jamoke that has to deliver the 4 rotors + brake pads I just ordered.

I really want to upgrade our TV, but for no reason other than I want a bigger one and to move the existing one to the basement.

May wait until black friday, but BestBuy had a nice 70" sammy 4k for $530 today.

I still advocate for Sony over Samsung these days - especially if you're going to be using the smart TV functionality.
