Something akin to the Mille Miglia for me; I didn't think it was a closed circuit.

That has to be the Nürburgring, right? I think only Spa would have also had straights that long back in the day, and I know that's not Spa. I want to say that long (mostly) straight part with the hills comes toward the end of a lap and after you've come down off the mountain, and if the camera were to turn around you could probably see the start/finish line.

Reims was comprised of three straits that were nearly a mile long each. Clermont-Ferrand had one long sorta squiggly strait. And both were public roads.

Karma decided to bite me in the butt. I was yelling "Wreck! Wreck! Wreck!" at Verstappen and Riccardo all race long, because I no longer have either of them on my fantasy team. And lo, they did wreck. And there was much rejoicing. And then my big-dollar driver pops a tire on the last lap while in the lead. And there was much sadness.

In a tepid defense of Red Bull, at least it was an actual racing incident for position. Unlike another driver (who may also be on my fantasy team) who apparently got so bored during a safety car that he decided just to drive into the goddam wall.

Loved that he blamed Ericsson for that.

One thing I will say, I think it's BS that RBR are taking the official line that both drivers are at fault and will make both drivers to apologize to the team.

They never should have been in the position to be racing in the first place, MV already hit DR two or three times defending position. So I'm pretty much with CBear here: If you're going to allow your drivers to race, don't make a public show of making them atone when one of them forgets they're not allowed to disco dance with their car in the breaking zone.

Verstappen can suck a big one as far as I'm concerned.

And I should point out, Verstappen is on my team this year.

I had one of those self aggrandizing moments after that where I tweeted Haas to tell Guenther there's plenty of American drivers who can bin a car behind the safety car. That'll teach them.

Teams have agreed to a simpler front wing and to a deeper, rear wing. They didn't agree to modifying the bargeboards.

These are the agreed modifications:

-Wider, simpler wings and straight endplates with the intention to curb outwash aero
-Fuel limit upped by 5 kilos
-Simpler front brake duct designs
-Wider rear wing with a more powerful DRS effect.

I like the idea of simpler wings.
The thinking with the DRS is shorter DRS zones but a more dramatic increase; fewer easy highway-like passes on the straight, but rather they'd meet in the braking zone. Sounds good to me.

That picture also needs a Haas mechanic with a wheel gun.

To me, the clearest indicator that they favor Max is that they made both drivers apologize to the team. That's absurd, after (apparently) not rebuking Max earlier. But this is what you get for putting teenagers into F1 cars.

Looked into it just now, the privateer placed 2nd, only 5 laps behind a NART Ferrari 275LM. It was leading until "A tyre blowout at speed on the Mulsanne Straight did severe damage to the rear bodywork. Dumay got the car back to pits but crucial time was lost with the panelbeating." (Spurring, 2010).
