I sent the video of my fastest lap from Nationals last year to have it professionally analyzed and Jade Buford said my driving didn't leave a lot of room for improvement. That might be the sweetest thing any man has ever said to me.

My interest in cars and racing has been maxed out at zero for the entirety of my life, but I spent last weekend at Mid-Ohio because my brother was in town with the WeatherTech series and I finally get it now. That was **** awesome and makes me want to drive something fast.

He was doing corner weights so I stopped by.

The M6 weighs 3,760lbs with no fuel or driver. 4,100 with me and a half tank. 1,100 of it just on the left front wheel.

Had 38psi cold and the LF got up to over 52psi under track use.

It was a ton of fun. Well, a few tons.



First bit is srsbznss, the back half is me fumbling around through the week. The part with the split screen where I pooched it was me testing to see if I could smoothly exit in 2nd gear. I couldn't. :lol:

Finished 14 of 27. Ahead of a gaggle of Corvettes, Camaros, an M3, and some others. Behind some Corvettes, Camaros, a Boxster, and the 2020 Supra.
I got to watch friends succeed and fail, and made a few new ones that I look forward to racing with again.
Speaking of, CBear. They moved it to the second weekend of June next year.

Wow, Honda out of F1 after 2021. Sure leaves Red Bull and AlphaTauri in a lurch. The most obvious option would be Renault, which I believe after McLaren switches next year will only be supply its works team. I don't see Mercedes wanting to supply Red Bull, as they'll already have four teams and Red Bull is currently their leading rival.

FIA regulations do have a provision that obliges the manufacturer with the smallest number of partners to step in and supply a team or teams that would otherwise go without engines, and that would be Renault. Given the bridge-burning between Red Bull and Renault, that would sure be an awkward relationship.

Both Magnussen and Grosjean out at Haas for next year. The departures are supposedly due to "financial reasons," so unfortunately I think those seats will be filled by rent-a-riders rather than good drivers. Maybe Pastor Maldonado can get his buddies in the Venezuelan government to bankroll another F1 run?

I've seen some articles saying that Red Bull would like to take over the Honda engine program, but they want an engine development freeze to lower the costs for them. I can't see Ferrari ever agreeing to that given how much their engines suck right now. An engine freeze would lock in that sucking for even longer than 2021.

There was a moment early in yesterday's race where Leclerc was trying to pass Verstappen, had the slipstream, and pulled out on a nice slingshot. The Honda then clearly outran the Ferrari down the front straight, and Leclerc was actually moving backwards. That was a clear demonstration of just how down on power Ferrari is right now.

The race on Sunday was the first race I can remember where I just stopped watching in the middle. Got to lap 30 or so and just completely lost interest. If they prolong this ruleset for yet another year it will probably mean my fandom goes on pause until they're ready to get serious about moving on. I can watch the highlight packs on Youtube later in the day, why waste 2 hours of a Sunday on this?

Portugal had an interesting first 10 laps or so, with the green track and a little sprinkle of rain. After that it became the usual Mercedes domination that we've seen so many times before.

Agreed. The start was exciting, I also noticed LeClerc getting stymied on the front straight and had a chuckle. Once Lewis reeled in BOT I went about my morning.

I loved the track, the elevation changes made it look like a hill climb. But the DRS zone was much too long.
