If you do take all the JCW stuff off and you're just a Cooper S you can edit your registration on the TTN site and class in T4 instead of T3. I'm still registered in S4 but I'm bumping up to T4 if nobody else signs up in S4.

TTN Tech procedure is driving through the registration area and showing that you have numbers and the sponsor decals in the right places. They only impound and inspect your car if someone protests. Obviously I'm not advocating that you cheat, but if you're worried about classing down because someone might check your VIN that's not really a thing.
I'll still have the JCW supercharger pulley, so I shouldn't step down. Plus it has all that pesky JCW badging, lol.

Hah.

I have Dinan 3 badging. But the Dinan upgrades are allowed in class so I didn't bother debadging it.

I wonder how much work it would take to stick one of those Honda motorcycle engines in, say, a Mazda Miata.

Two of the five Ford GTs that raced at Le Mans this year have been DQ'd for too-big fuel tanks.

3.4oz oversize. Or, .1L on a 96L tank. Measuring a fluid that expands and contracts with temperature.

It's also not a matter of the tank being too big. They changed the fuel tank capacity a few times during the week, it's a matter of displacing the volume in the tank with foam filler.

Keating has been an absolute gentleman about this because it doesn't smell right at all.

Exactly!
The nose had been damaged for two hours when the ACO decided they suddenly needed to change it. Then on that stop they were penalized for excessive wheel spin leaving pit road. They still won on track with those two disastrous calls. It stinks of not wanting to let the only GT entered win the Am class.

I'd like to add, the extra fuel cell capacity could be put in your Ziploc bag and carried on your next flight.

Yeah. The truth of the matter is they did the same amount of stops as everyone else, plus the nose stop, and there was no actual advantage gained. I understand it is a black and white rule. My guess is the other cars were not checked as rigorously, if it all.

I admire their..... humility? That's maybe not the right word. But my go-to point of reference here is how Michelin responded in 2003 when their magical fattening tire tread was popped. "Oh, Ferrari is a big meanie-poo-poo head! We can't possibly be ready for the next race!" And bam they arrived with 1,500 tires ready to go. The one Ford team at LM was like, "Yeah, we did that. We thought it was within the rules, but I guess not."

My car has been running great since before last months TT. But I knew my DISA valve was broke and contributing to a lean condition. Since I already had the parts on hand I figured I would go ahead and swap it out.

Now it is having trouble idling and stalls out. YAY!

Also, it's already on the trailer for Kansas. Maybe 900 miles of rattling around on a trailer will knock something loose, or tight, or whatever.

LOL. That's ok, I had dry fit stuff last night and decided to go back over and make sure things were well polished and anti-seized this morning...only to crossthread the slide pin into the carrier. Mark me down for another lunch at the salvage yard.

I'm seriously considering a garage if we're going to get 2" of rain between dusk Saturday and noon Sunday.

I was thinking of pitching my tent on the wood deck of my trailer.

I'm bringing two EZ-ups. One houses our tent, the other is going to have our table and chairs under it. You're welcome to come sit under that and try to avoid rain if you want. Bring a chair as I somehow only have two these days.

I've read that they're also having wind gusts up to 25 mph though, so there may be no hiding from it. I brought a tarp I may try to use as a wall.

It's going to be a mess is what I'm saying.

If my car starts and runs I brought my Conti DWS street tires as rain tires, so I have that going for me.

President Trump has said that he is going to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Roger Penske:

I really hope they dip the medal in acid and then cover it with vinyl first.

The episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with Lewis Hamilton was quite enjoyable.

You both seem like quality people; clearly this must be some sort of timing-and-scoring error.

Dodint also waxed me btw; but I got lucky that I was grouped with a Multi-National Champ autox'er who blew a brake line and ripped the front of his car off and a guy in a Mustang who was afraid of the wet.

As challenging as the wet was, my tightest pucker of the weekend was on Saturday during Time Attack 1 in the dry:

It doesn't *look* that fast but you'll note I'm doing 76mph when the back breaks loose.

Funny thing is I had already set my fastest lap of the session and knew I was done. I just wanted to use the last few minutes to see if I could get on the tail of that silver M3 that I had been running with all weekend. In Impound he said he was watching me in the mirror, saw the side of my car, and thought I was done.

That's not a fun place to be sideways.
Also, those saves are criminally underrated when you're dealing with a pass car steering rack.

I was running around all Friday and didn't get a chance to grab my GoPro from the hobby shop, so take my word for it:
I almost exited 5 tail end first in the wet Sunday morning. And then I knew my lap was toast so I took it "easy" and almost did the same in slow 8, and again in 10.
I think it was having too much wheel in the car when hitting a drying spot.

I believe you. I think I was there when you were explaining to Tyler and Dakota that you can kick the back end out of a FF car.

At intermission of Hamilton and they still haven’t started singing about his karting days. I think a I’ve been hoodwinked.
