Because if there's one thing F1 sorely needed, it was a new logo.

I like it.

I do not particularly care for it.
I think this was the logo when I got into the sport.

Duncan Pittaway doing V8 things.

This is like when Red Bull was "Infiniti" for a year.

Nah, Alfa is in the DNA of Grand Prix racing. I'm stoked.

Interesting: Just read that for the first time in eight years, revenue paid to teams was actually less than the preceding year. (To the tune of over £40 million) Liberty attributes this in part to fairly hefty spending on their part to recruit new staff and secure office space, and other general start up costs that diluted the net. Not necessarily a good way to end their first season at the wheel.

I really wish I had been around in the days when the great European road circuits truly were that: Public roadways. Can you imagine having a Formula 1 race go on around your house/farm?
Also, did the hill grow over the years? That doesn't look nearly as steep as it is now.

Project Cars 2 has an "old Spa" that is something like 11 miles long. As you described, narrow farm roads with hay bales alongside instead of armco.

I think one of us shared this video once before, but here's a 4-minute clip of Martin Brundle driving around the old Spa in a an E-Type and talking about the allure of the place.

Meanwhile, Alonso’s biggest problem with sharing a car in ROAR testing was that his endowment is larger than the kids he has to share the car with.

I'm bored, and the 2018 season is still a couple months away, so I'm throwing out a topic. What auto manufacturer that is not currently in F1 would you most like to see enter F1 as either an engine supplier or a combined team/engine supplier?
My vote is for Hyundai. Korea has become a major power when it comes to automobile manufacturing, but its manufacturers have had little presence in motorsports. Hyundai is the world's third-largest vehicle manufacturer. A top-level motorsports program (assuming some success) could improve its bona-fides as a major player.

Seems most fans have wet dreams over the idea of Porsche coming back as an engine supplier. It will be neat to see how Alfa's and Aston Martin's involvement changes in the coming seasons.
I'd rather they had a rules package that was enticing to indies like Cosworth.

VW, for me.
I don't trust BMW even if they made a comeback.
Ford if I had my choice but that's not even on the radar.

Since dodint took Ford, I’ll take GM.
The efforts they put into their LM24 and IMSA efforts actually makes me think that if they went to F1 they’d have a solid effort, and that’s coming from someone who hates the general.
All are good answers. I’d definitely support more characters in F1. RB’s first couple years were great until they started to succeed and got corporate

Hyundai is for Continental ST and PWC TC, not open wheel racing.

The correct answer is, of course, Dacia.
On the engine front, I've been an F1 fan since Gilles Villeneuve was still alive, and I'm still waiting for McLaren to build their own dang motors.

Yeah, just like nothing says "F1 racing" like the manufacturer who made the "Le Car."Hyundai is for Continental ST and PWC TC, not open wheel racing.
If Renault and Peugeot can make F1 engines, then Hyundai can too (especially when Hyundai Motor Company crushes Groupe Renault in revenue).

Lancia crossed my mind, of all things.

Considering Renault owns Dacia, nothing says they can't use that name on their engines. Just like if WV were to build engines, they should totally put the Škoda name on them.
Motorsports (non-NASCAR)
I completely forgot that Renault owns Dacia. So it's really just a branding exercise.

Is that the Dacia Sandero.
