I happened to throw on Alanis Morissette’s ACL tonight intending to only watch until I found something better. My wife and I ended up watching the whole damn show and I realized that not only do I know the words to a lot of Alanis songs, but they are still bangers.

Mean girl introduces a mean girl. Decent catchy beat to this one.

There’s a doc on Netflix released a couple of weeks ago called The Greatest Night in Pop. It’s about the making of We Are The World. It was really frickin good. The all-star game of music in one room.

Haha, yeah eddy and I had a go about that doc a bit ago in a different thread. Then I made fun of nocera because A&M was across the street from the strip club where he lived.

Some amazing backstory going on there that I never knew.

So, last year on Record Store Day, my daughter wanted this heart shaped single by someone I had never heard of called Laufey, which was like $15. Seemed like a lot for one damn song by someone I never heard of. But yeah, whatever. What the hell, it's record store day.

Fast forward 11 months, now the rest of the world and I have heard of Laufey (I even know how her name is pronounced!), that $15 single goes for at least 3 bills on Discogs, and right now the cheapest one listed is $430. Good eye, kid.

I got a bunch of stuff that's going for less than I paid. Oh well. She goes for the in demand stuff the kids like these days. I go for old guy rock and jazz.

The next classical box set I went with was the Haydn Edition from Brilliant Classics. I'm currently at 60 CDs ripped, with 100 more to go.

OK, I just listened to some Laufey songs on YouTube, and I'm extremely confused. Not only did she not rap once, but not a single one of the songs mentioned her vagina, and none of the videos focused on her twerking butt, or even featured any twerking butts at all. Is... is that even like legal for a female singer these days?

Voice-wise, Laufey reminds me quite a bit of Dinah Shore. Very talented.

Celebrated an excellent bonus this year by spending entirely too much on a Pittsburgh Pirates MLB pressing of Hackney Diamonds.

Damn, that's from an HBO show called Reverb from the late 90s early 2000s. That's a shame it's not on Max now though.
