Baby Franchise, age 14, hops in car after school. Plugs in her phone as she always does. Up pops “Running Up That Hill.”

“How do you know this song?”

“Dad, I know you haven’t watched the new season of Stranger Things yet and told me no spoilers but it is very important. So you have heard of Kate Bush?”

Heh. Let’s go to the record shelves when we get home, shall we?

Kate was only 5 years older than my daughter when The Kick Inside came out. Pretty incredible.

My daughter is taking me to a concert by “The Wallows” on Sunday night at Stage AE. She says she is going to “style” me.

I’m a 51 year old balding fat guy. Not sure how “styling ” me is going to go.

The members of that band are way too young and have way to much hair for me to want to listen to their music.

June 17 is already calendarized. I'm not optimistic about my chances for getting tickets before they sell out, but I for damn sure will be ready to go.

It's got to be a parade of drummers helping out: Steward Copeland, Danny Carey, Matt Cameron, Jack Irons, Chad Smith...man, that would be worth it to see those dudes alone. Nandi Bushnell, perhaps?

Queen is off tour as of July, so I wouldn't be surprised if Roger Taylor was at one of the shows (if not both, he was very close with Hawk; he dedicated his OBE in Hawk's name this year).

T collaborated with a metric s**t ton of artists over the years: Alannis Morrisette, LeAnn Rimes (who I think was his neighbor), Duff McKagan, Joe Walsh, Chrissie Hynde, Nancy Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Johnny Winters, Rick Springfield, etc.

So I'm at this terrific festival near Mannheim with fine artists like Bonobo and Arlo Parks, but have any of you metalheads heard of Lightning Bolt? @NTP66? @Kane?

On a different musical note, Nick Lowe with Los Straitjackets from the Arts Festival is on WYEP now. Sounds good!

Wallows were pretty good last night. Sounded a bit like Weezer to me, maybe. Huge teen/20s girl following but I wouldn’t consider them a “boy band” really. Baby Franchise was in the front row of the pit and had a fabulous time which is the most important thing.

A Post Malone cover of a Pearl Jam song. This should go over well in this thread.

From the very limited amount of stuff I've seen of him, Post Malone strikes me as kind of a hapless goofball. And I mean that as a compliment.

Surprised that Matt Cameron isn't involved. Really nice to see Alanis there
