Joe Rogan's interview with...
I generally don't like his podcast very much, but it's appointment viewing when Jocko Willink is the guest. The comments section is sometime glorious.
When Jocko was born, he told his mom “My name is Jocko”
The COVID19 virus puts on a face mask when it’s within 6 feet of Jocko
When Chuck Norris goes to sleep he checks under his bed for Jocko
Testosterone has low Jocko
When Jocko was born, the doctor turned to his mother and said, “it’s a man”

Impossible Germany is a pretty great song. Excellent guitar work from Nels, as always.

Really curious what the rest of his career would have looked like had he not died so young. Valens, too.

This is nice to listen to. I like that she doesn't do the overboard indie voice like so many of them tend to do.

She's great. And she may be setting the record for concurrent side projects.

Yes, she is. I love boygenius, but Better Oblivion etc etc not so much as I can't stand Conor Oberst's whiny voice.

I always got the impression he was trying way too hard to emulate Dylan.

Boygenius is good stuff. Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers both have great voices.

Bright Eyes was my jam in the early 2000s. To be honest, it still is. He's another one that is trying to set the record for side projects but I'm a fan of basically anything he does.

I like it. I'd read a blurb about her in Rolling Stone where she said she hates "classic rock" but went on about how John Lennon is her favorite Beatle.
You hate it, but have a favorite Beatle...ooook.
Leon Bridges > Phoebe Bridgers
I know that makes no sense, but for some reason I thought they were related.

Well this is an interesting note. Not saying I disagree. I could definitely see an argument for this.

"Classic rock", to me, is bland (mostly) 70s crap like Boston, Chicago, Deep Purple, et al, defined by, and I quote here because I coulnd't have put it better myself, an "ideologoy celebrating a male homosocial paradigm of musicianship" that I find utterly detestable. The Beatles were nothing like that.

I like Boston and Deep Purple more than the Beatles. I understand the historical significance of the Beatles but musically they do nothing for me. Boring.
