I understand the distaste for GG. The handful of their records that I have I bought when I was 16 and 17 and haven't listened to them much since then. Made a "Walk the moon" pandora station as their "Shut up and dance" song is one of my favorites at the moment and this song came up on it on my walk home after work yesterday. Such a good song to just walk and clear your mind to:

You're the drummer..... you are supposed to be the click track. If the producer/engineer guy is insisting on that, fire him immediately.

Haha yeah, it's definitely different, but it's to get everyone on the same tempo. Some songs you speed up through parts by a few BPMs and you don't even realize. It's just for consistency.

Anyone else forget how much good stuff you have until you put your iPod on shuffle?

Absolutely! I'm always pleased when I shuffle my library and find good song after good song.

It reminds me of an 80's pop song, which I'm not exactly opposed to... meh. I enjoy it.

long time Vampire Weekend fan, but I don't keep up with them at all. I had no idea they came out with that 2013 album until just the other day.

Yeah, I don't mind Walk the Moon. I liked that Anna's Sun song. I'm pretty sure that was them. It's just in that particular song, and really in the one particular part, it just hits me as some Spencer Krug vocal knock off.

Yeah... Anna Sun is a good one from them too.

In the vein of classical/video game soundtracks. Tin won two grammies for this album, as well as a third for the first song, Baba Yetu - the theme song for Civilization IV & the first song from a video game ever to win a grammy. The album's in three movements. Each song is in a different language.

Highly recommend a buy / listen.

Not that I didn't like the older stuff - in fact, I probably like the With Sympathy-era stuff more so than anything over the last 15-20 years - but I love that he has been casually releasing stuff that he's been sitting on for over three decades.

Very good album.

A7X was a good band up until Self Titled and The Rev dying. Nightmare had its moments and all....but Hail to the King was garbage.

I felt the same way on the first listen about Hail. Gave it another shot and I love it.

The mid-Atlantic and the midwest hates Nickelback, and the rest of the US hates the Bieb. That seems rather accurate.

Not to take thunder from krafsters post, but I was wondering on 5AF what's the general consensus on Zeppelin?

I know it depends on what type of music you like, but IMO I think they're so freaking good. I'm younger (not trying to be a Richard) so I haven't heard all of their less popular songs, which is what Led heds say you *have* to listen to.

That Teletubbies/JD video is strange.

Anything Teletubbies is bizarre. My now 16 year-old daughter loved that show when it was on and I've seen most of the episodes. Even weirder was the follow show, the Boohbahs. They looked like uncircumcised you know what.
