Anyone else snagging Stones tickets? I've wanted to see them for a long time, and this will probably be the last chance to see them stateside. Don't care if they will be on the far side of 75, they put on a show.

This is a great read on how the new Neil Young release was recorded on his 1976 tour.

That was a good read. Album, naturally, is excellent.

They used C90 cassette recordings off of the soundboard...pretty good quality imo.

I know people who have seen their show and thought it was great; I personally don't see how. I wouldn't want to pay the kind of money they're probably asking, especially in the wake of the movie, but ymmv.

We enjoyed the show. I wouldn't pay a ton of money to see them though. I mainly enjoyed May's guitar work.

If you are unfamiliar with the Buzzcocks you may have heard a few of their songs. RIP Pete Shelley

Don't know if any of you guys are jazz fans but just got 2nd row seats to Pat Metheny at Carnegie Lecture Hall in March. Have wanted to see him for 25 years now, concert dates just never worked out. Can't wait!

The Pogues are awesome.

Seen them in concert 5 times.

Same with The Wolfe Tones and The Dubliners.

I saw the Pogues in - eek - 1990. There was and still is a large contingent of British Forces based in the area where I live, so it was pretty rowdy. Awesome.

I saw the Dubliners in 1991 in Kilkenny, ... in a hall full of German tourists. They also use to play in Bielefeld every November.

I saw all three in Pittsburgh and D.C. at various places.

The Wolfe Tones are a little more openly "down with the cause" than the other three so their concerts attracted a bit more interesting crowd. ;)

t’s a music genre that has made its way from the user-generated “airwaves” of Soundcloud to having its best year yet on streaming services like Spotify: emo rap.

The music category, which features artists like Lil Xan and Juice WRLD, topped a list released by Spotify Tuesday of genres that saw the most growth in 2018. The music streaming service tells NBC News that the category didn’t just rise in popularity this year — it exploded.

“Emo rap grew 292 percent in 2018 over last year,” wrote Spotify’s trends expert Shanon Cook in an email. “According to our data, emo rap's share of listening started increasing in the fall of 2017, but really took off in 2018.”

Can you imagine dating a writer for Jezebel? I know people overuse the term "cuck", but that's probably the kind of guy that puts up with that nonsense every day.

I mean, they aren't really wrong. Every country song now sounds the same, and it's always a male-dominant group *shrug*

Aren't really wrong?

Country music has always been dominated by female voices. Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, The Carter Family, Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Suzy Boggess, etc...

Those are all legacy artists.

Outside of Carrie Underwood, it’s difficult for a solo female artist to get airtime on country radio.

Other than a couple of one off singles and a duo (something called Dan + Shay), the first female solo artist on the top Billboard country music list in Carrie Underwood at #25. Then someone named Kelsea Ballerini at #29. https://www.billboard.com/charts/country-songs

A veritable venison sausage party on that Billboard list.

The headline is "Country radio hasn’t historically been interested in promoting the music of women", not as of today, and Bro Country ain't country.
