I didn't know whether to put this in the music thread, the beer thread, or current events.

You're a popular punk band who just got a deal with a pretty legit brewery and came up with a great concept of part craft beer fest and part punk show. How could you possibly f*ck this up?

Fat Mike: Hold my beer

https://pitchfork.com/news/nofx-lose-be ... -shooting/
During their set at the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, NOFX made jokes about the horrific Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting on October 1 that left 58 people dead, Billboard reports. “I guess you only get shot in Vegas if you’re in a country band,” said guitarist Eric Melvin. “At least they were country fans and not punk rock fans,” frontman Fat Mike responded.

Stone Brewing Co.—the San Diego Brewery behind NOFX’s beer and music festival both called Punk in Drublic—has now distanced itself from the band, The Blast reports. “We at Stone Brewing are aware of NOFX’s insensitive and indefensible statements this past weekend. As a result, we are severing all our ties with NOFX, including festival sponsorship and the production of our collaboration beer,” a representative for the company said in a statement.
Amazingly poor timing, considering they were supposed to do the three day punk camp thing this weekend.
A couple of my friends went to this when it was in Pittsburgh. I intended to go until the day of, and saw my friend the next day. He said Bad Religion was great, played the hits and put on a good show. NOFX was his favorite band back in teenager days and he said they were trash. Basically spent the entire hour BS'ing on stage and played less than 10 songs. I guess if your a dumbass and you spend your nights rambling on in public in front of large crowds, your bound to say something stupid and offensive.

Yeah, I always found them too gimmicky. But that Linoleum was a great 90's punk song.

I went to the Pittsburgh show. Bad Religion put on a long set. They did the Suffer album front to back, which 14 year old me would have been impressed knowing that 44 year old me was up against the rail for all but two tracks. Once they wrapped up Suffer, they did another 30-40 minutes of songs. Their set alone, even without the beer and the other bands, was worth the price of the ticket.

NOFX? We actually Uber'ed home during their set. 10 minutes until the set, and in only remember them playing an opening song and yammering afterwards. Like Troy said, I love Linoleum and there's a few songs from the Punk-O-Rama compilations that I like, but overall... It's not that I don't like them, but when you go to the shock card too often, is it really shocking? As a friend of mine said, did Stone do their due diligence and realize that they were signing a band that does stuff for shock value, or did they say "hmmmm, catchy beer title. Great idea for the part beer fest/part punk show. Let's f'ing do this!!"

The songs on Lush are great, but the sequencing is rubbish imo.

I’m a bigger fan of the guitar than the singing.

Bush/Cult/STP tickets popped up on Groupon today for $15. I wouldn't mind see The Cult and Bush's first few CDs were ok. Not sure how interested I am in seeing STP 2.1, but with the amphitheater being right down the road and the show being on a weekend, I might end up going if my calendar is clear.

I saw a tweet from pithfork saying something like, "snail mail is the future of indie rock". So I added it to my library to see what it was about, and am mostly just confused by that proclamation from Pitchfork. It's fine, they just sound like a band I saw open for Conor Oberst in 2009. Nothing interesting.
