https://www.stereogum.com/2022344/la-me ... nded/news/Jered Threatin is a metalhead from Los Angeles who sings and plays every instrument in the one-man hard-rock band Threatin. Despite the project’s thousands of Facebook likes and YouTube views, you probably haven’t heard of it. That’s because Threatin faked his entire online fanbase in order to book a tour of the UK and Europe.
A tour that, unsurprisingly, no one is showing up to.
Bands exaggerating numbers or buying Facebook likes is hardly a new phenomenon. But MetalSucks reports that Threatin took things a bit further — lying about ticket sales, buying Facebook likes, event RSVPs, and YouTube views, faking live footage of “packed” shows in LA, and posing as a nonexistent promoter to con venues into booking him to play.
It worked. He hired a backing band and set off on tour.
But when the tour kicked off in London last week, it quickly became clear that things weren’t exactly on the up and up. According to the Underworld, the first venue where Threatin played, only three people showed up to the show despite the band’s agent claiming that they had sold nearly 300 tickets in advance. The same thing happened in Bristol a few days later, with only a few people from the opening band’s guest list attending despite 180 tickets supposedly being sold in advance.
You can laugh, but this dude is gonna end up with a #1 song on iTunes.

http://loudwire.com/report-aerosmith-gu ... condition/TMZ is reporting that Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was rushed to a hospital following his guest appearance at Billy Joel's Madison Square Garden concert last night (Nov. 10).
Their report alleges that Perry performed "Walk This Way" and collapsed upon returning to his dressing room. Paramedics arrived and allegedly worked on the legendary musician for 40 minutes, intubating his trachea. He was eventually wheeled out of the venue on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital. His current condition remains unknown.

So if you're ever in San Francisco, go to the Fillmore Theater. It is an absolutely glorious venue; I joked on Facebook that I kinda want to move in. The main room is small, which is great, and there is a bar area upstairs that has posters from historic shows there that's basically almost floor-to-ceiling on all sides. Place just oozes rock and roll awesomeness.

Is it the original location?

It's at Geary and Fillmore, so I guess? It's definitely old and grimey.

Re Roy Clark
His right hand was his greatest asset (woooooo), and it was this dexterity that allowed him to play material like that with a pick (that stuff is meant to be played with five points of attack on the right hand, not somewhere between two or four). But while that was his best asset, you could tell it was a compromised style; he was still sort of sloppy and imprecise. And not in the Jimmy Page or Eddie Van Halen sense of falling-down-the-stairs-and-landing-on-their-feet. With him, it was more of a I'm-trying-to-punch-two-weight-classes-up thing.

Segovia and Reinhardt were a generation before, most of the others a generation after. McLaughlin is 10 years younger, so he's really the only one that probably could be considered of Clark's generation - and also considered as more technically accomplished. So you're saying he was more a contemporary of Andres Segovia, Eliot Fisk, Django Reinhardt, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, John McLaughlin...Freddy said "of his generation." He was 85...
I remember talking to EPP about this on the old board. I brought up McLaughlin as the best, and also mentioned Clark.

So it's only on that one day? Or only on Netflix from that day forward?
Music Thread
I'm sure it's going to be going forward, that's just the release day and poorly worded.
