Not just their songwriting but their playing and their live shows were epic.

I saw 'them' in 2015. The whole thing hasn't aged well if what you're saying is true.

one of the strangest "whatever happened to...?" stories now has a "boring" end.
Yesterday out of nowhere, a woman claiming to be Q Lazzarus tweeted back at me saying she was indeed alive. I thought it was a joke, so I simply responded “you’re my new favorite account” and thought nothing more of it. This morning, that account tweeted “Any questions?” to which I responded “a whole email’s worth actually.” I then got a direct message stating the following:

“Hi, sorry to bother you. I just wanted people to know I am still alive, I have no interest in singing anymore. I am a bus driver in Staten Island (I have been for YEARS), I see hundreds of passengers everyday so I am hardly hiding (or dead!), I have given Thomas Gorton (Dazed) my fone number and address just to confirm I am ‘real’, sorry if this is a boring end to the story, I am going to come off twitter soon as I find it odd, please take note of this message incase anyone else is interested. THANK YOU”

So when Foo Fighters are off the road, they play secret shows all around LA under a variety of fake marquee names, like just the Wednesday night lineup. Fans would invariably say "HOLY S--T" when the band would take the stage, so they started billing themselves as The Holy S--ts. From that came Taylor Hawkins' side project Chevy Metal. Last night CM/THS were joined on stage by Roger Taylor for Under Pressure.

I tried listening to Paul's new album and couldn't make it all the way through. Still impressed that a 76 year old can put out an album with weird sex songs though

McCartney was on Stern the other day talking about Lennon/Ono. Stern asked him point blank who broke up the Beatles and he was pretty open with that response.

It was the right time to break them up.

Back at the hotel after Foo Fighters at SAP Center (stage was at the end where Letang scored the Cup winner in '16).. They played a song I requested on Facebook that isn't a regular part of the set, so I'm gonna own that. So much fun.

Also, SanJo crowds are junk. The venue is probably good for hockey, but the people are pretty useless. This was like at least the fifth time I've seen the Foos live, and it was the first time Grohl sort of chided the crowd for general oof-ness.

These are probably some of the same people who booed the refs during the 16 finals because they couldn't grasp the concept of icing.

I am so frigging excited. Neil Young just announced two solo shows on Sunday 9/30 and Monday 10/1 at the Tower Theater outside of Philly. The presale is through his Neil Young Archives site (free account). Was able to grab two front center loge tickets on the aisle. I am seeing him for the first time on 9/23 at Saratoga (with POTR) and then solo the following week.

You know how old people just don't understand young people's music? Normally it happens gradually over a few years of the new generation taking over. I think I just experienced years worth of that in one 15 minute video.

He seems like a likable enough kid, but his music is clearly not for me. Back in my day, we called this spoken word or even Def Poetry.

Yes.
I listened to two pieces and was reminded of a poetry/painting slam I attended twenty years ago. Maybe someone was off to the side painting flowers on rice paper? Also Laurie Anderson. The remarkable thing about this for me is that he's found a rather substantial audience of young people (as far as these things go) or so I'm told by one of my own younger people.

His mannerisms from the way he moves his hands to the way he smiles after a line are straight out of slam poetry. If I heard this guy when I was in high school or early college I would've been all over it. He's similar to Why? or Hymie's Basement as far as syntax goes.

You know, the more I think about and listen to this kid, the more I appreciate it. I'm not going to listen in the car or anything, but at least I'm getting it now.

This is great. Kurt rocking the Daniel Johnston shirt too. Does MTV still cover music in this way?

Ha, I knew this was going on, but I didn't know his wife was behind the project. Very cool.

Apparently after they finished the Break A Leg tour and he completed his leg rehab he got hardcore into barbecue. Like, he'd smoke a dozen briskets a week, or something stupid.

I have an orange Thermapen, too, Dave Grohl!

Bono once wrote a letter to Captain Beefheart asking if he would be interested in writing/recording together. The reply was hand written, and it said this:

"Dear Bongo, No." https://t.co/PktjmQyypM
