http://www.slicingupeyeballs.com/2020/1 ... n-seconds/The Cure’s Robert Smith performed a trio of songs off 1980’s Seventeen Seconds for the Robin Ince-hosted “Nine Lessons and Carols for Curious People” 24-hour charity livestream, a set broadcast Saturday that included “In Your House,” “M” and “Play for Today.”
As you can see from the excerpted video below above, Smith — in all his barefoot glory — performed the songs solo, accompanied by a drum machine, from what looks to be his home studio. The set was prerecorded at an earlier time and shown toward the end of the marathon livestream.

That's where I was with it.Forgot to respond to this yesterday.
When the vocal starts.......
That is all.
I really wanted to like it, but those vocals as you said are .
At least the battle of the lost drumstick was entertaining.

I think I was probably too old to understand / appreciate the dislike for nickelback, my mtv days ended in like 2000, but after seeing this, I finally get it. I thought it was just that they were a crappy faux rock band. This is much more.

I thought it was hysterical, and I'm kinda bummed the subsequent videos haven't been quite as campy. The Ad-Rock 'impression' was a hoot. That's where I was with it.Forgot to respond to this yesterday.

holy **** that was terrible. I was gonna ask how I never saw that before, but it's not like I go out of my way to seek out Nickelback videos.

And I know there's no connection, but the first thing I thought about when I saw Jason Alexander and a fedora was...

I've been on a big band kick lately. Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke, etc.
So good

I've taken my time off with the band to learn some more rock tunes on the bass. I have a catalog of 100s of songs I can play on guitar but very few on the bass outside of our set list.
Name some iconic basslines for me to learn.
So far I've done:
Beat It
Under Pressure
Anesthesia (the first half anyway...)
My Name is Mud (it's not perfect)
One of These Nights
Money
Nativity in Black
My Friend of Misery
