I went down a bit of a Wiki rabbit hole.

Mike Love is Kevin Love's uncle? How did I not know this?

Happy 59th Tori Amos. I guess I knew she was that old but off the top of my head I’d have said 52.

Especially early on she took a lot of heat for being too much like Kate Bush. Sure, the influence is there and she pushes the envelope like Kate but really, I don’t think she sounds that much like Kate.

Now, several times I’ve thought St. Vincent was Tori, though.

I saw that it was National Banana Splits Day and thought of this song a friend in college played from the record:

Great session musicians and I think the singer went on to sing with Zappa.

Don't wanna throw the video game thread off topic, so I'll put this here:

Is the super mario bros theme the most recognizable piece of music worldwide?

I'd say Beethoven 5th as far as recognizable, but I don't know that people would know it's that specifically? In the video game world, Mario has to be tops

I'd give it an outside look at the top 100 maybe. You're talking about a single platform video game.

There are any one of dozens of film scores and classical compositions that would be higher on the list of recognizable pieces of music imo, and that's before you even get into popular music.

The second The Hu ambum released yesterday. This is the third music video from the album, "Bii Biyelgee." This song is one of my favorites of theirs, and it's great live. A biyelgee is a traditional Mongolian dance.

The first minute or so overlaps with the video for the two-part video they pre-released for the song "Black Thunder," so they seem to be doing a sort of continuous mini-movie with their music videos. I want to say I remember Guns N' Roses doing something similar back in the day.

I knew a German in FL named Wolfgang and he went by Wolfie/Wolfy (not sure which spelling was used) and he's probably in his 60's now.

The only Wolfgang I know is ~60 and, like so many Wolfgangs, goes by Wolle.

Chili peppers tonight. Just saw Thundercat, he is legit super talented. Won the Grammy recently for best progressive R&B album.

Strokes next. Didn't realize they won Best Rock Album on 2020. Can't wait for their early 2000s stuff.
