So a family friend is a long-time Vegas performer called Earl Turner. My step-MIL has been his assistant/sort-of-booking agent for 20+ years, and his son, Aaron, was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance a couple years ago. Last night they were performing together along with Lady Gaga's musical director. At some point during the show, it was determined that Aaron's tapping was not being picked up enough to be heard by the audience, so Lady freakin' Gaga came to the stage and held a microphone over his feet while he danced.

There's a video of it, but it's on Facebook and I don't know how to embed that.

You just made me watch two of her videos. Thanks.

I did like this YT comment:
Billie Eilish: Hey.

13 year old girls: OMG SO MEANINGFUL

Sorry, the song and video Bury A Friend are amazing.

She's also an Office superfan, and there's a video of Rainn Wilson giving her a show trivia challenge. At the end, he presented her with a yogurt lid mdal.

When I was watching that, admittedly the first thing I thought was what has a 17 year old been through already in the music business/her personal life for her to be putting out stuff like that. I do agree it's catchy, but she has definitely been through some sht.

Rancid and pennywise are playing at the sandcastle parking in September. I had warped tour flashbacks just seeing the add in the city paper

Decided to try to listen to a Band of Heathens radio station on Google Play Music. It's not all Band of Heathens, in fact, it's mostly not.

What I've learned is that there is such a thing as emo country.

You try and listen to In Times of Cold (with Patty Griffin) by Ray Wylie Hubbard without trying to kill yourself. I'll wait.

At The Wiltern awaiting the second opening act (The Glorious Sons (?)) before enjoying the onslaught of The Struts.

So I confused these two shows despite talking about both of them with a few people. :face:

NOFX/Me First/etc are at Sandcastle on September 21st

The last time they appeared on stage together at Dodger Stadium was the Beatles' penultimate tour gig ever. In 1966.

He also brought Joe Walsh out earlier in the set for some shenanigans, which is the best way to Joe Walsh.

Yep, always good to see Paul and Ringo on stage together.

I know he obviously colors his hair/beard, but Ringo looks younger than Paul and the other two guys on stage. I read an article/interview with him in Rolling Stone a few years ago and it mentioned he was ridiculously regimented with his diet and exercise - like weighing foods and so on.

It's amazing that man is still alive today, and to be in as good as shape as he is in performing.

Dunno if there are any bluegrassers in this thread but anyway...for awhile I've been thinking that molly tuttle might be taking tony rice to the next level in a way that bryan sutton, Larry keel et al haven't. Her cross-picking technique is impeccable, her clawhammer guitar technique is as well

finally had a chance to see her live on saturday night and good god she pulls the most beautiful tone I've ever heard -for what that's worth- and i'm thinking 'yeah, rice is lemieux and gretzky and she's mcdavid. I figured she could play bop and some of the lines she played saturday when accompanied by her band were off the graph in that direction but she doesn't beat you over the head with it. her talent is so large I can't wrap my mind around it. She literally plays like a 'people are amazing' video. On top of that she sings like a bird
below is link from a guy we met at the show who was kind enough to mail it to me.

I've been diving deep into the Stones catalog ever since the concert. Damn they were/are good.

Aren't Joe and Ringo brother in laws or something like that?

Joe married Ringo's wife's sister, but they were bros long before they were related. Joe is an OG member of the All-Starr Band.
