I'm dreading the next 5-10 years...so many great artists will no longer be touring, dying off, etc. I saw Elton at Boardwalk Hall seven years ago or so and it was fantastic.Elton John announcing his "final" world tour as well.

Another new guitar from my buddy. He built this one specifically for thrash metal:

Is that an old Kramer neck?
Music Thread
Negative. All custom built.
He did own a Kramer, when we met as teenagers.

Well he still clearly likes the headstock shape.

Still one of my favorite concert videos/compliations to date

Jason Isbell tonight. Amanda Shires will apparently perform with him - that makes the concert that much better. So pumped. Second time I'll be seeing him in the past year.

I'm a big fan of his, and I haven't seen him yet. He's been by me (or will be) twice this tour already...which is odd. I need to see him at some point.
I'm thinking the first "family" concert we'll go to is the Avett Brothers in April. I think it's the only active touring band that all four of us enjoy.

Yea, my wife and I went to cincy because he wasn't slated to come to Pittsburgh - it was fantastic. The outdoor venue was great and he played for almost two hours.
Then he added a Pittsburgh date, so I just went ahead and said let's do it again. Avett Brothers are good too - I'm all about that kind of stuff.

We are going to see Avett Bros at Chautauqua Institution in August.

The Isbell show was fantastic last night. I much preferred the Heinz setting versus the outdoor Cincy setting. The outdoor show was basically a guitar shred fest/party. The Heinz hall show had some acoustic setting and intricate stuff I would miss otherwise.
Either way, excellent on both counts. Jason really is a top-notch performer.

Probably similar (in feel) to this: https://www.npr.org/event/music/5458442 ... sk-concert
I meant to put this earlier, but a few months ago, Sturgill Simpson did a live Facebook "concert" outside Bridgestone Arena while some country music awards show was going on inside (as he wasn't invited lol). It was mostly him talking, but he played a bunch of songs to about a dozen people or so...until his phone died. It was really cool.
And then Simpson showed up to play with Chris Stapleton on SNL this weekend:

I saw Sturgill two years ago. Another fantastic show. I want to see Stapleton, but he's gone pretty far out to where he was with the Steeldrivers - I just don't care for his newest stuff.
The breakthrough album he had was great because it was close to his roots - his new stuff is meh.

Heard this song today for probably the first time in 25 years. Happy it's back in my life, brings me straight back to my childhood.

That is quite likely the only song you know in 15/16 time.
