I quite randomly stumbled upon this guy on a random Youtube search, and I am surprised how much I enjoy it!

If you ever feel like you've gotten to a certain point of competency in your abilities, and maybe could use a bit of a reminder that your sht does indeed stink, fire up something like a Danny Carey drum clinic video. Or the video showing Adam Jones' day job when Tool was a garage band was making dinosaurs for Jurassic Park. Or Maynard James Keenan making wine in the fcking desert of Arizona. Or maybe just revel in Justin Chancellor's magnificent beard.

You will be humbled, and you will be better for it.

would love to see them, I've seen Derek Trucks a couple times and he's blown me away both times.

That was really good (still listening to it in another tab lol).

Layla is really my favorite Clapton recording. I daresay he hasn't put anything out that complete since this album. Good songs? Sure. But not 90% + of an album that is perfect? Not even close (Thorn Tree in the Garden is awful).

DG66’s music roundup:

-New Tool record is excellent, if you’re into that sort of thing
-Discovered a newish artist, Yola. Vintage sounding, like Leon Bridges, but with more of a folk-country sound. Very unique.
-I’m a big Genesis fan, really getting into the older stuff from the 70s. I found this German studio band that does medleys of lots of different “classic” artists, and they did an excellent Genesis medley:

Not crazy about the main vocalist (sounds more medal than Phil or Peter), but it’s very good. One of the top comments has timestamps, so you skip Invisible Touch.

give me a good album recommendation, I need to mow the grass tonight. My aunt in law called yesterday and said they had an opening in their box at PPG for Phil Collins and I looks like I may get to go! Pretty excited about it!

Wind and the Wuthering is really good.
Seconds Out is a great live album perfect for lawn mowing.

Selling England by the Pound. As for Phil Collins solo, take a pencil and insert it into your ear, then poke.

His first two albums are actually decent, and I discovered him via No Jacket Required as a youngster. I can’t listen to it now though, as it’s just dull.

I actually thought about going to his solo tour, but at $75+ a ticket to see him seated playing a lot of the recent-ish hits, I decided to pass.

Some talk about a Genesis reunion though, with his son on drums (he has nerve damage and can’t play drums any longer), might be worthwhile. They sounded good on their farewell tour in 2007 (another good live album), and Mike and Tony still tour and play regularly.

Listened to Seconds Out and Selling England by the Pound. Both were terrific. Thanks! Looking forward to the solo show, wish it was more of a Genesis show music wise, but I'll settle for the incredible sappy hits and air drum for a couple hours.
