I prefer Apple Music, but YMMV. (I actually liked Google Play Music the best of any of them, but that went away and it's now YouTube Music).
Apple music has a better interface and easier to navigate

But their playlists all suck ass and it's impossible to find new music I like on that infernal app. My method is to find music I like on free spotify then add it to my various playlists on Apple

On my Amazon wish list, hoping to get it for my birthday in a couple weeks
I got this and the older Reelin in the Years book about the band. 25 pages into Quantum Criminals, it's very well written.

If you have CNN they are showing the Bee Gee's documentary. They were huge until the Comiskey Park disco record burning which was a backlash against blacks and gay people and they were caught up in it. Not a fan but they were very successful song writers.

I am as big a Nuno Bettencourt fan as there is in this world entire, but 2hrs 17mins is too much, mate. Honestly. Guy's a brilliant player, but, as John Hammond might have said, he suffers from a deplorable excess of personality.

New Foo Fighters album is very good. I consider myself a fan of the Foos, but rarely listen to their new albums (last 10 or so years) more than 1-2x through. Violet Grohl sounds great backing her dad, too. @tifosi77 was it announced that Virginia Grohl died over the summer? I don't recall hearing that.

Yes, it was announced only five or six months after T Hawk died, end of summer, but I'm not sure if that's when she actually passed. Ugh. When Hawk died I really did think DG was gonna call time on the whole FF thing, and then to dogpile that with Mama Grohl's passing.... the fact that they didn't even really take a hiatus is kinda bonkers. Like AC/DC releasing "Back In Black" only six months after losing Bon Scott. It's like "Jesus, guys, you've earned a bit of a break. Chill out a while."

I haven't listened to the full thing of the new record yet, but what I've heard so far is pretty good. Has an early-era vibe to me, like the first couple records after Shifty joined the band (which is my favorite era of their music). I've also noted to Mrs Tif that the drums sound different to my ears. I don't mean it like, "Booo, it's not Taylor! The drumming is different." No, I mean the actual sonic character of the drums, the way they were mic'd and recorded and how the performance was captured sounds different to me. I don't know where this one was recorded, but I know they worked with Greg Kurstin again; they can record percussion on plastic kits with paper heads if they want, so long as they do the annual Hanukkah Sessions every December.

Been going through all the king gizzard and the lizard wizard albums.

I'm in the your mind fuzz is a terrific album.

They really can go across all kinds of genres with their music, their new album coming out is going hard so far

One of the guys at the Attlc in Millvale is a huge King Gizzard fan. They are featured heavily in their display window.

Okay, just wanted to clarify it was the interest in the band that was past-tense, not Columbia.

That is a great restoration.

I've been on a big kick with Donald's solo stuff. Kamakiriad is great.

Quantum Criminals arrived a few days ago. Didn't read it yet, but it looks terrific.

I'm 80 pages in, it's phenomenal. Probably the best Dan book ever written (I am not qualified to make that statement at all). But it's great.

Trans Island Skyway might be my favorite off that album.

Really digging the Goodbye Look atm. Pour me another Cuban Breeze Gretchen...

I bought Kamakiriad on release day. Such a great album, and a lot of those tracks made it on mixtapes and Minidiscs over the years. It's another album that I can listen to and have memories of the past, usually driving around Charleston with a loaded down clapped out Jeep Cherokee full of bread, cookies, etc. from my family's bakery, delivering them to restaurants and caterers. Good times. Simpler times.
