Best concert I ever saw - they were amazing performers. It was at the Syria Mosque.

No idea that the Syria Mosque had been gone since 1991.

I only had a few Mother's albums so didn't know a lot about his music which made it even more impressive so nothing was that memorable outside of Whipping Post. It was almost 40 years ago. Something that was memorable was when wee were walking to get to our row this long haired guy comes up to me and pulls out a big joint and gives it to me, smiles and then walks away. lol I wasn't smoking then but it was a nice gesture on his part.

Good stuff and I'm happy to report that frequently still happens at shows I attend. I got into Zappa pretty hard in 8th grade and haven't looked back. It has not gone over well for rest of the family.

The performance was exactly as you hear on those You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore where Frank would conduct the band and the go into guitar solos. The band super tight. Cool mixup of Montana and Whipping Post:

it’s an incredible feeling when I find genuine and newly released hip hop that isn’t the typical pop crap

I don't want to pay for Sirius in my car and radio stations around here all suck. So I'm looking into apps. Any res for music apps that allow you to download the music to your phone rather than stream it? I'm on a 1 gig plan via Xfinity so streaming isn't practical.

you can bundle it with Hulu (with commercials). It’s been good for me

That $10 I spend every month on Spotify is easily the best investment I've ever made. I think about my childhood and desperately recording my favorites from radio to tape  Now I can listen to whatever I want (with minor exceptions like Garth). Spotify is easily 2-3+ hours/day for me if not more.

yeah, pound for pound probably the best bang for buck in my life

Thad said, I know wonder if it’s ethical since how shitty it is for artists who do get exposure but don’t get much in royalties

Rick Nielsen is the most adorable grandpa rock guitarist out there. He just ambles around stage, casually shredding.

Robin Zander's son plays guitar and sang lead on one. He's pretty solid.

I prefer Apple Music, but YMMV. (I actually liked Google Play Music the best of any of them, but that went away and it's now YouTube Music).
